My wife & I arrived at the hotel concorde el salam at 11pm & were given a light meal before we were to taken by golf buggy to our room with a garden view, our cases arrived shortly afterwards. The room was clean & suitable for our needs with a queen size bed. The hotel has a lot to offer everyone with an excellent animation team providing entertainment & activities through the day & evening, within the main hotel & the concorde sport across the road next to the airport. The food was of a very high standard but becomes familiar after the 1st week, the drinks are slow in coming, we found on several occasions that we would have finished our main course before they arrived. The hotel grounds are very big with excellent swiming pools and a facilities available including, ice skating, horse riding. squash, aqua gym, gym, spa, massage, hairdresser, nightclub, shops, evening bus to nearby Naama Bay for shopping. We did a few excursions ie to Tiran island & Ras Mohamed where we saw turtles. The hotel has it's own coral reef & beach with a watersports hut & a scubadiving hut (padi) as well as a bar offering soft drinks, ice cream & beer & a restaurant for lunch. The time we spent at the hotel we spent at the beech, the staff there could not do enough for you, with its own reef with pontoon, allowing snorkeling amongst a vast array of fish etc, under close watch by an Egyptian with a whistle to protect the reef. At 1pm we left returning at 4pm along with all the Russians as between these times it is too hot to be out in the sun. But try telling that to the British couples, families at the pool on the same beds day in day out from 9am-6pm slowing cooking themselves to death between 1pm & 4pm where the temperatures were in excess of 40c. After a few days they were complaining of Pharoahs revenge for 4/5 days, wonder if this was due to too much sun, alcohol & food!!!!! This is a 5*hotel but in the evening a dress code should be adhered to in the restaurant, but many brits chose to ignore this by wearing shorts, t-shirts, even football kits. Despite the Russians being rude & arrogant we should learn a few things from them including dress sense & common sense when in the sun!!! The british have some of the highest counts of skin cancer in the world wonder why!!! Even during the day, in the foyer & hotel bar/cafe brits would come in without tops on, beer belly & sweat on show, for their beer & fag, not a pleasent site!!!! Benidorm came to mind, especially when seeing a football club flag tied to balcony, unbeleivalbe & not done. Overall would definately return, as the hotel is of a high standard with friendly staff willing to help especially if you say you will tip them at the end of your stay, go for the Egypt experience, not the pool!!!!!
