We have just arrived home from a week long stay at the Mirabel Park. On the whole the hotel was very good. Clean & well staffed to keep it this way. The bar staff were very attentive, the pool area was good - plenty of sunbeds etc. The hotel has a 4* rating but I would say the food is not up to this standard.
We were having a fantastic, relaxing holiday until the day we went on a trip to Cairo. It's an early start leaving at 4.20am ( which I have to say is well worth going on). We had been charging our ipods over night & so didn't think to put them in the safe before we left. When we returned at 9.30 that evening we realised they had been taken from our room along with the usb adaptor for charging. We reported this immediately & were told it was too late to do anything that night but it would be looked into the next morning.
We had a meeting with all the relavent staff the next morning - managers, security, hotel rep & were told that from the card reader that the only person to enter our room during the day was housekeeping (housekeeping suprisingly were not present). Fantastic, was our response, at least we know who took the property but no, the manager basically said our property should have been in the safe,& as the room hadn't been broken into, it was our word against theirs. Samir the Thomson rep was a great help, he was very supportive. We said we had a crime commited against us & wanted police involved. He arranged a translator to meet us at the police station but, beware if you have property stolen, when you go to the police they will try to get you to say you lost your property for the report which you ned for insurance purposes ( presumably this keeps crime figures down). We refused & were told we wouldn't get our report unless we said we had no suspect as it would take time to investigate & by then we would have left the country. We came to a compromise & said the property went missing from our room, the room wasn't broken into but we had no suspicions who took it!!
This has left a very sour taste in our mouths & has changed the way we remember our holiday. One bad apple has spoilt what had started out to be a very good experience

We are just back from a great week at the Mirabel Park Hotel.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The room was basic but again, clean and spacious. The bathroom was great, a massive walk in shower which was lovely. We found the beds comfy and nice and big. All rooms look over the pool area which is nice.
The pool area was lovely and again spotlessly clean, plenty of sunbeds for everyone.
The park is a short walk to the beach but not too far and although we only went to the beach once it looked like a nice beach.
Food at the hotel is not great, you wont go hungry... but, for the quality of everthing else in the hotel the food seemed to let it down a little. Having said that though the dining area again was spotless and the food although not brilliant was edible and appeared to be as fresh as a buffet style could be. When I say not brilliant I mean choice not quality of food hygeine, that seemed to be fine!
The hotels entertainment didnt appear to be the greatest, although in fairness most nights we sat on our balcony and watched the world go by.
The hotel is under a flight path to sharm airport but it never really caused a problem, aircraft noise was not really noticable.
Tipping the staff.... we tipped all staff at the end of our stay, we had an excellent service from all staff cleaners, waiters and bar staff, they did not need tipping at the beginning of the holiday in order to get a good service from them.
The only real critisism is the management of the minibar, it is not included in the AI price and they tend not to check it everyday and then seem to add stuff on when they feel like it. We along with another couple were presented with questionable minibar bills. If you are going to use it keep your own record of what you take from it and query if it is different to what they say.
All in all an excellent holiday in an excellent hotel with excellent staff. We would go back to this hotel and this area.

“Fab hotel but beware of the stomach bug!”

We returned yesterday from 2 weeks at this hotel. The hotel itself was fab.....very clean, staff were very friendly and the rooms/pool areas were lovely. The choice of food though was quite poor! Out of the 3 mirabel hotels I thought this was the nicest, even though its smaller than the beach resort.

Beware of the stomach bug though. apparently its at every hotel in Egypt but a lot of people at this hotel had it including me! It spoilt the first week of the holiday as I ended up getting dehydrated from the bug and so had to have an IV drip (not what you go on holiday for). Luckily the bug only seems to last a day or 2 but it can be quite painful. Unfortunately nobody knows what causes it....if you happen to have it go to the pharmacy on site and they'll give you what you need as imodium doesnt seem to work!

Overall we had a lovely holiday and i would definately recommend this hotel if ur thinking of going to egypt...however we would not return to egypt in the near future due to the stomach bug!!

“Very very good”

Jaz Mirabel Park

We had a great week at the Jaz Mirabel Park.

If you are looking for a relaxing time with children particularly, book this hotel. If you intend to spend lots of time in Na'ama, and are interested in lively nightlife and shopping, then don't. It is quite far from any action (20 minutes from Na'ama which is easily accessible via minibus and taxi but it would add up!) and right at the northern end of Sharm development.

For us, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 and 11, it was absolutely ideal. The whole resort is all inclusive and though you are limited to dining in your own area of the complex (there are 3 parts, Beach, Park and Club) you can still eat and drink at the Beach Sand Bar and the Reef Snack Bar near the beach, until 6:30. The food at all the restaurants (except the 3 a la carte which are outside of the all inclusive) is exactly the same, and is plentiful and of decent quality. The all inclusive was very generous indeed and I usually had to tell the staff to stop bringing me drinks!

The Park is particularly good because of the waterslides -- 5 of them, open every day from 10 am - 12 pm and 2 pm - 5 pm. There are lifeguards at the top and bottom to ensure safety and they are great for children and adults as well!

The Park and Club are particularly suitable for families, as pretty much all the rooms are family rooms with 2 sleeping areas separated by doors. We had originally booked into the Club but got upgraded to the Park on arrival (?) I'm not sure if the Club was full or something but the upgrade was very much appreciated as it's just that little bit nicer. I did wonder if they were trying to put more English families into the Park as there were plenty of them. Our kids weren't interested in the kids' club but a word of note - there is basically no kids' club now at the Mirabel Park. There used to be one, and there is still technically one available at the Beach but it is a German run company which is specifically aimed at very young children. We were told by the Egyptian staff that there used to be a French run club which has since stopped, and there is a move to get an English kids' club as the English presence at the hotel is increasing all the time. My kids were not at all concerned as there is so much to do. There were LOADS of children there; always a game of water polo, water volleyball, ping pong, football, etc to keep them occupied; great for us but if you are a young couple, without children, looking for a romantic break you may find it a bit manic!

Sunbeds no problem. No need to reserve, plenty available all day.

My 11 year old did a PADI course at the dive centre on site which was very well run, and priced about the same as other PADI dive centres in the area. The main instructor there is English, though the centre (Mister Diver) is Italian. They do their shore dives in Sharks Bay, about 15 minutes away, but it was very well integrated with pool dives and theory in the resort in the morning with sea dives in the afternoon, so my son was able to use the AI facilities throughout.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely great. We did tip, but it never seemed to be expected, only appreciated.

The snorkelling from the hotel - it's a VERY long wade out to the reef (bring your reef shoes!) and is only advisable when the wind is down and you can't see the breakers on the reef. Even better is when you turn left at the beach and walk along the little road to the unfinished Louis Tiran - go past the fence at the water and go about 200 metres around the headland until you get to the cove - this is not a hotel beach area (yet!) but don't worry, there will be other people there and the snorkelling is absolutely superb - the corals are pristine and the variety of sea life is amazing. Much better than other areas in Sharm that we saw.

All in all a fantastic, relaxing family break.

“wonderful stay”

Well what a wonderful place, and wonderful people, We arrived back early yesterday morning, The hotel its self was spotless, The staff all wore uniform which made the hotel look even more organized, and smarter.

On arrival we were the only lucky ones on the bus staying here so after a 5min check-in. We were taken with our cases by buggy to our room which was a family room with two bedrooms on the ground floor which we requested. The bell-boy showed us how to work safe etc. We then wandered up to the bar and met the staff. Very nice lads. Adel, Raddy, Mohammed.
In the morn the sun was shining through by 7.00am. So this was it. Now to start holidaying.

Breakfast starts at 7.00am til 10.30am and has everything you could need. Pancake and waffle station, egg station.
We always did lunch at pool bar which was serving lunch from 12-6pm. 9-12 they served late breakfast. Alchohol was served from 9am, bit early for me.
Lunch in restaurant was served about 12.30 -3.30,
Dinner in restaurant was 7.00pm-10.30pm.
Entertainment was more or less every other night. cuban dancers, salsa night, belly dancer, and english singer. other nights animation put something on in ampitheatre. What a row.

Hubby went to cairo with fayed travel, exactly same trip as thomsons right down to lunch on nile. thomsons was £155.00 hubby paid £110.00. If there are a few going that is a big saving. We also booked Red Sea Cruise and saved £11 each it all adds up. Quad bikes were amazing we booked these down on the beach £20 per single or £25 for a double. Thomsons was £35.

Went to naama bay which is 30min run in shuttle bus which was £4.00 return and has to be booked day before. Naama bay is all lit up bit like blackpool. Didnt go again was not that impressed we were quite happy staying near hotel.

Beach was nice enough, its a good 15min walk through sister hotel Mirabel Beach hotel. There are 2 bars down there were you could drink but didnt serve food. You could get food from mirabel beach hotel pool bar but you would have to pay for it. But if you intended to spend day on beach, you could get packed lunch from your own hotel and take with you. This would have to be booked the night before. We ordered 2 lunches but found 1 would have been ample. you got 1 cheese baguette, 1 ham baguette, 2 peices of fruit, 3 pieces of cake, 1 bottle of water, 1 carton of fruit juice.

The beach only comes up to your shins for about 1/2 mile before you can snorkle, there is a small area which is buoyed off for swimming but that is only waist high..

In all we had a fantastic holiday and we are definitly going back.
