First, i would like to start my review with an apology. To the previous reviewers who stated they had mice in their rooms, i am sorry. I honestly only half believed you because your review seemed so angry, i thought maybe it was just sour grapes. Now i know, and i am here to back you up! I will try to keep this review as honest as possible, good and bad.Our trip to Harrah's started on Friday, July 4th. I went with some of my girlfriends, one of which is a Seven Star player, and we had a very nice looking 2 bedroom corner suite in the Waterfront Tower. VIP check in was horrible, it took almost 30 minutes just to get to talk to someone, and even though it was 3:00, our room wasn't ready. She told us to come back in an hour. When we did, the room still wasnt ready. Given, this was 4th of July weekend, but they were unorganized and confused and there was very little communication among the vip attendants and housekeeping. finally, we got our room. We ate at the buffet while we were waiting on our room, we had a nice table near the beautiful pool area. The buffet had all the staples a good buffet should, like a meat station, pasta, salads, soups, and a heavy asian area that was very popular. overall, i would say the buffet was good. the casino is slowly going non smoking, and has carved out small areas where people can play and smoke, but finding a decent machine is hard. the smoking areas had tons of those lower limit machines that have multi pay lines and the video machines, but not many that i like. we found a better smoking area near the Xhibition bar near the front of the casino, where they had $1 and $5 slots that were more like what we were used to. Drink service was terrible, we had to flag down employees all the time to send a waitress out. We ordered room service for all our breakfasts, and room service was quick and very good, and i think since we had butler service (comes with the suite) it got expedited. we ate at The Steakhouse after hearing so much about it but frankly, i was very disappointed. it was so old fashioned, the manager seemed like a smug jerk, we had THREE very confused waiters and the food was just mediocre. In late July, they'll be opening a McCormick and Schmick and that should be the end of the steakhouse! yay! The pool does turn into a nightclub at night, and its true, it is very loud, we were on the 16th floor and could hear it all the way up there, but we had a sound machine, so that helped. We got out to the boardwalk area and the Pier shops at Caesars on Sunday, but i wasnt all that impressed. it was dark and a little sleazy. Lastly, on our last morning, i awoke early to the sounds of crinkling in the room and there was a MOUSE on our dresser! We called housekeeping, who told us to call Maintenance, who never came to the room, and finally we told the butler, who told the front desk, and all they had to say was "we can give you another room"....on our last day? we were checking out that afternoon! All in all, we were very dissatisfied with Harrah's AC, i think i'll stick to the cleaner, newer, friendlier Biloxi casinos, which has better food and better service. Goodbye, Atlantic City!
