“Love Harrah's”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

5 of 5 stars
fort pierce, florida
Jul 22, 2008

Love Harrah's. Comped, lovely, rooms, beautiful decor and the pool area is to die for. Love it all. Slots, however, have obviously been adjusted in some way to pay less...hardly ever heard any bells, etc. go off signaling a jackpot or big win. These seem to have become few and far between. All we ask as slot players is a chance and some play time. Not to be wiped out in 15 minutes with a machine that pays off 1 out of 10 spins.

“Mice-No Kidding!”

First, i would like to start my review with an apology. To the previous reviewers who stated they had mice in their rooms, i am sorry. I honestly only half believed you because your review seemed so angry, i thought maybe it was just sour grapes. Now i know, and i am here to back you up! I will try to keep this review as honest as possible, good and bad.Our trip to Harrah's started on Friday, July 4th. I went with some of my girlfriends, one of which is a Seven Star player, and we had a very nice looking 2 bedroom corner suite in the Waterfront Tower. VIP check in was horrible, it took almost 30 minutes just to get to talk to someone, and even though it was 3:00, our room wasn't ready. She told us to come back in an hour. When we did, the room still wasnt ready. Given, this was 4th of July weekend, but they were unorganized and confused and there was very little communication among the vip attendants and housekeeping. finally, we got our room. We ate at the buffet while we were waiting on our room, we had a nice table near the beautiful pool area. The buffet had all the staples a good buffet should, like a meat station, pasta, salads, soups, and a heavy asian area that was very popular. overall, i would say the buffet was good. the casino is slowly going non smoking, and has carved out small areas where people can play and smoke, but finding a decent machine is hard. the smoking areas had tons of those lower limit machines that have multi pay lines and the video machines, but not many that i like. we found a better smoking area near the Xhibition bar near the front of the casino, where they had $1 and $5 slots that were more like what we were used to. Drink service was terrible, we had to flag down employees all the time to send a waitress out. We ordered room service for all our breakfasts, and room service was quick and very good, and i think since we had butler service (comes with the suite) it got expedited. we ate at The Steakhouse after hearing so much about it but frankly, i was very disappointed. it was so old fashioned, the manager seemed like a smug jerk, we had THREE very confused waiters and the food was just mediocre. In late July, they'll be opening a McCormick and Schmick and that should be the end of the steakhouse! yay! The pool does turn into a nightclub at night, and its true, it is very loud, we were on the 16th floor and could hear it all the way up there, but we had a sound machine, so that helped. We got out to the boardwalk area and the Pier shops at Caesars on Sunday, but i wasnt all that impressed. it was dark and a little sleazy. Lastly, on our last morning, i awoke early to the sounds of crinkling in the room and there was a MOUSE on our dresser! We called housekeeping, who told us to call Maintenance, who never came to the room, and finally we told the butler, who told the front desk, and all they had to say was "we can give you another room"....on our last day? we were checking out that afternoon! All in all, we were very dissatisfied with Harrah's AC, i think i'll stick to the cleaner, newer, friendlier Biloxi casinos, which has better food and better service. Goodbye, Atlantic City!

“Loved Harrah's”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

My husband & I stayed at Harrah's new waterfront tower. I was very pleased with our entire stay. The staff were very friendly and pleasant from the moment we arrived. We signed up with the Total Rewards program and received a few freebies when doing so. We used the parking valet for $10, I believe. We did leave our car in the gargage and took a cab to the boardwalk area for $11 each way. The outlets "The Walk" were a bit confusing. it was sometimes hard to cross the streets to get to other stores.
They had your typical outlets stores there, plus a huge Coach store!!

We had dinner at the cafe in Harrahs the food was ok, nothing special. Overall we did have a pleasant experience staying at Harrahs, very clean and no complaints.

“Water Tower at Harrah's - Be sure to ask for this tower”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

4 of 5 stars
Chantilly, VA

Went to Atlantic City for 4th of July.

- Stay in Water Tower. High Floor
- If you stay in a High Floor the entrance and exit for the elevator banks is across from the indoor pool, next to restaurants, and the Fitness Room & Spa.
- Rooms & Bathroom are big and comfortable. Flat screen TV, in-room safe, empty working refrigerator to use for food or beverage.
- Was skeptical about an indoor pool - most smell like clorine and aren't very "relaxing" I was surprised this indoor pool felt like an outdoor pool. Very sunny and bright. Pool nice. Has an upper level that goes outside to a sunning deck.
- Enjoyed relaxing and reading at the pool - no children, no Marco Polo, just adults and a lot of peace and quiet.
- Parking free for players club members.
- Free shuttle for players club members to other Harrah owned properties.

Great food option:
The Steakhouse - incredible meal and service. Worth ever penny!

Our complaints:
- Food Service at Reflections Cafe is EXTREMELY slow. Waited 30 minutes for two sandwiches. Server said the manager was going to come over, but he never did. Lots of compliants about the slow service from guests. This is the same restaurant servicing the pool - and guests at the pool were also getting angry about the wait. Since this is the only restaurant open 24 hours - you are kind of stuck with the poor service.
- Breakfast options are limited. We were looking for a place to have a quick breakfast at 8:15 (like a Starbucks) and the only fast option was Club Cappuccino. Breakfast sandwiches are pre-made and sitting under a warmer - they had been sitting there so long they were stuck to the paper wrapper, burnt and poor taste. Threw them out.

All in all - a good time and not expensive. Would highly recommend. Actually liked the Water Tower at Harrah's better than rooms at Borgata or the Tropicana.

“Wonderful Time”

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

4 of 5 stars
Washington, DC
Jul 2, 2008

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here this past weekend. We were not only pleasantly surprised by the price but by the overall pleasant treatment provided by the staff.

We are non-smokers and it is always an issue when there is a lot of smoking but these areas are clearly marked and one can simply go around them.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful view from the 30th floor.

The resort is so large that getting around is certainly going to take some time, but then again, most of the higher-end resorts in Atlantic City are huge!

The food was outstanding; in fact, we probably just ate way too much for our own good. The pool area was very nice and we were just so pleased that our anniversary was with Harrah's.

We'll be back...and bringing friends!
