On Saturday, January 19th, 2008 my family checked into the Days Inn for two joining rooms per our request. (Paid extra for ocean view) #450 & #452. We have a 20yr old special needs daughter that is highly medicated and also under physiciatric care. At 1:30am our daughter woke up SCREAMING, "Something is biting me, something is biting me". We ripped the sheets off her to find her bed infested with bed bugs along with tons of there babies. She has bites on her shoulder and stomach. I spent all night checking her over and over looking for reaction to these bites along with comforting her from being traumatized from this ordeal. We called the front desk immediatley and the clerk on duty came to the room to witness the bugs which he took a sample of (and so did we). He told us that we could have a room on another floor which then would split our family up. We had to pack up my daughter and mother at 2am and move to another room and floor. We spent the rest of the night in there room comforting our daughter. No one slept or felt comfortable sitting or laying on a thing. It was 2am and there was no way we would be able to drive 4 hours back home. We waited until morning to return home. In the midst of checking out we attempted to have our rooms refunded to us and the only thing the Front Desk offered was give us one room refund. THAT WAS ALL!!!! I can't believe that this corporation could be so inconsiderate, we now have the responsibility to take her to a doctor to have these insect bites examined, we also made an appointment for her to see her phsyciatrist to council her on this dramatic situation. We have not been contacted regarding this matter since we've left. The owner of this Days Inn franchise would not identify himself and remained anonymous. We were unable to speak with anyone in charge to be acknowledged and compensated for this disgusting situation and kept on being passed to the next person. All my family was looking for was a room refund especially because it was vacant due to the fact we couldn’t leave our special needs daughter alone in another room on a completely different floor!!!!! Instead of being apologetic all the desk could do was be argumentative!!!! This hotel claims that they are pet friendly I guess that includes bed bugs.....

I don't know if it's just luck on my part but I have never stayed in such a bedbug-ridden establishment in my life. Even the curtains, when closed, flooded the room with light through a wealth of insect holes. The mattresses and box springs were covered in little black spots where they were clearly harboring families of bedbugs. When I returned home, I immediately threw the entire contents of my suitcase into a hot wash - before even taking my coat off - out of fear that I would infest my entire home. While the balcony off our room overlooking the boardwalk was nice and the location was spectacular for the price, there is little else I can say about this hotel other than to advise you to stay away.

The place is not flashy but we stayed in December and the price was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and the people at the desk were friendly and helpful. The location was also great... right on the boardwalk. If you are on a budget and don't want to pay for a room in one of the pricey casino hotels, this was a reasonably priced, nice, comfortable place to stay. We also had a very good breakfast the next morning at the restaurant attached to the hotel.

If you are looking for a clean hotel room, great location next to the Tropicana, Great Price, This is the place.

We had a partial ocean view which was supposed to be an upgrade, due to the weather the ocean was nothing to look at.

The walls are thin. There was a family next to us who was extremely loud in the hallway and kept slamming their door.

The thing that irriated me most.......I had a do not disturb sign on the door, because I was very tired and did not want maid service. Yet the made had the guts to call me and said "I notice you have a do not distburb sign on your door" "do you want maid service"! That irriated me......do not disturb meens do not disturb.

I would recommend this hotel if you do not plan on staying in it to long. The value is exceptional if you just need a place to sleep. Thats if you can and don't have loud people in the hallways.
