“Better than I expected...”

Caesars Atlantic City

I liked Caesars AC. Hotel was very crowded. Check in line was long but it moved quickly. They put me in the Temple Tower which has all remodeled rooms with flat screen TVs. Only thing negative to say about the room is that the bathroom is small. But they do have a nice walk-in stand up shower (instead of a bath tub)! Very NICE!

Casino, pier shops and boardwalk were very BUSY! Wow! This is my first trip to AC and always thought that it would be slower and less busy than Vegas but no way - I couldn't even get a seat at any of the blackjack tables and this was on a Mon and Tues night! Also, lots of beachgoers.

Caesar's is in a great location - central boardwalk - easy to get to/walk to all the other casinos (either N or S) on the boardwalk. I would definately stay there again next Summer.

“not family friendly”

We booked this trip for a spur of the moment one night trip to AC.
We arrived at the hotel with our 2 kids, at 1pm on a Monday. We requested an ocean view room in the Centurion tower. We were charged a fee of $50.00 to upgrade, but we like a nice room. They said the room would not be ready for 3 hours. We walked the boardwalk for a few hours and hit the Trop for the IMAX dolphin and whale movie. (very enjoyable). Walking the boardwalk, was like being in Time Square in the 80's. Lots of freaks and homeless. Having to explain to my kids why the man, dressed like a woman, was dancing and asking for money was not my idea of fun. (He wore lovely skinny jeans, with holes in the rear :(

Back to Caesars we went. We arrived at 4pm to get our room keys. When we asked how to get to the pool, we were informed that a new policy had started that past weekend, and the pool will now be closed for adult only swimming from 1pm to 8pm. We could not believe it. My husband made a huge fuss and the manager told us that we had to contact customer service. My husband told the manager to call himself. When he could not get through on the phone himself, he asked what he could do. We asked for something to be taken off the bill. He offered to take off the upgrade charge. It seems that was all we were going to get. My son was crying and we were all pretty miserable. It was our plan to relax with the kids have a few drinks by the pool, my husband would gamble a little and we woould have a nice dinner. None of that ever happened.

We got to our room, and what do you know? No ocean view! This just keeps getting better. The room was lovely, but nothing special. The beds were comforable. But the room must have been dusty, as that is my son's only allergy and his eyes were red and itchy. I had to give him Benadryl.

We went to the buffet in the hotel and had to pay $25.00 per person for dinner. I questioned the price for the kids and was told children 5 and over pay full price. How is that right? My 7 year old daughter in no way eats as much as my husband. And the only kid friendly food was the ice cream bar.

We had enough. We were going to go to bed, but decided to activate my gold rewards card to get he discounted parking at least. There was no line, so I was taken right away. My husband, waiting off the line, was approached by a security guard who told them to go wait on the Pier. (the shops). My husband would not go as I was coming at that moment. As we explained our frustration, the guard stated, Well sir, Caesars is not for kids.

Well that sums it up. Caesars is not for kids.

We were up early as the pool opens at 8am adn the kids wanted to swim. We went up to the roof-top pool in the Ocean Tower. There are at most 30-40 lounge chairs and 4-6 tables. The pool was maybe 20X40 feet wide and 4ft. deep in the center. The kids swam for 10 minutes and were freezing cold. We had the option of late check out but opted for the early drive home. Chose not to pay the outrageous prices for breakfast and hit a Dunking Donuts on the way home.

We may or may not come back to AC (without the kids for sure). But we will not be staying at Caesars.

“Much Better Than Previous Stay”

Caesars Atlantic City

4 of 5 stars
New York, NY

I last stayed here 2 years ago and was put in a tiny, old, horrid little room in the Temple North tower, so my expectations were set pretty low.

This time, I was upgraded to one of the newly renovated rooms in the Centurion Tower - and with an oceanfront view no less!. I found out later that it was because the front desk clerk knew I was there on business and wanted me to be comfortable working in my room.

The room blew me away not only because it was comfortable and stylish, but because it had two firsts for me in a business class hotel. One is that in addition to the iPod dock and the large LCD HDTV, there was a DVD player with surround sound (including a sub-woofer). Too bad I didn't bring any DVDs . . . The second thing was they have somehow embedded a flat screen TV in the wall behind the bathroom mirror, that plays as if it was in the mirror itself. I have stayed at hotels that had an LCD-TV in the bathroom, but the placement in the mirror was a first.

The only thing about the room that I can see being a problem for some people is that the door to the bathroom is actually a frosted glass sliding door. Beautiful and modern, but when closed, there is still a large gap on both sides through which the bath and sink portion of the bathroom can be seen (toilet is behind a closed door). If one is standing by the front door of the room, you can actually see not only into the bathroom, but straight into the glass-walled shower. Probably not great for people sharing a room who wish to have bathroom privacy.

The front desk staff was great and the meeting facilities were well done.

Location in the middle of the Boardwalk can't be beat. Make sure to ask the front desk for a discount book for the shops at the pier across the way - very valuable and I was only told about it at checkout. Would have done some shopping had I been given it at check-in.

The one bad experience we had was dinner at Mia's. For the price it was very disappointing. The food was fussy without being inspired. We actually had the chance to meet the chef and he was completely underwhelming. Even when we asked him what his own favorite dishes were, he lacked any enthusiasm. Room service breakfast on the other hand was fine and arrived very quickly.

“Excellent hotel!”

Caesars Atlantic City

We stayed here for 3 nights last week and LOVED it! Stayed in the Centurion Tower on the 6th floor. Because my wife is claustrophobic we requested the lowest floor possible (less elevator time) and they accommodated us pretty well. Check in was a breeze, fast friendly service.

The room itself was incredible. Large room with a very comfortable bed, flat panel HDTV, mini fridge, plenty of drawers. The bathroom was awesome too as it had a separate room for the toilet and a beautiful walk in shower with very good water pressure.

The view was not very good though. Directly outside our window was a view of a rooftop with spotlights. You could see the ocean if you peaked around the corner. But, we weren't there to spend time looking out our window, right? I did wake up in the middle of the night the first night thinking it was morning already since it was so bright outside. Turns out it was from the spotlights on the roof next door and it was only 2:30AM. Close curtains, more sleep, added bonus!

Had breakfast at the La Piazza buffet. Excellent! Had dinner one night at Sonsie at the pier. Very expensive but well worth it.

The only complaint we had was on the day we were leaving we called down to get our check-out time extended. We were put on hold while they checked our "comp" balance. Apparently we didn't gamble enough to warrant an extended check-out.

All in all we highly recommend this hotel.

“Centurion Tower room is very nice”

Caesars Atlantic City

Spent three nights in a room with a beautiful view of the ocean and boardwalk. Bathroom with a shower stall and very good water pressure to boot. Nice amenities in the bathroom too with big fluffy towels. Staff are either very nice and helpful such as check-in or on the casino floor, or brusque and border-line rude such as the KWI Noodle House. Also worth avoiding are the rude tip hustling doormen at the main entrance who yell at drivers picking up passengers to move on if they are not quick enough to do so. Casino action seemed less busy than what I remember and maybe the tightness of the machines is a good reason for that. Restaurants are good if over-priced and one can get better value at offsite dineries (Ruby Dee,Tony's Baltimore Grill,Knife and Fork...etc) which are also worth visiting for their own ambiance and as they are also where a lot of the locals go. The Pier shops and restaurants are also very enjoyable. For a grand (and expensive) dinner out I recommend the Phillips Seafood Company.
