“Great Hotel & SPA!!!”

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa

5 of 5 stars
New Jersey
Jul 13, 2008

I stayed at the Borgata with my husband for one night. It was beautiful. Our room was spacious with a king bed. The rooms are in great shape and are absolutely beautiful. The casino was amazing. It is so huge that we kept getting lost! The restaurant selction is amazing. We decided to eat at NOW (Noodles of the World) which was great. We also had lunch in the "Cafeteria", which is below the casino. The spa was amazing. When you book a appointment you are entitled to use the spa for the rest of the day. About the only drawback was that this casino is not on the boardwalk and really not near anything.

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights and 3 days at the Borgata and we loved it! We have been to Vegas a few times and the Borgata makes us feel as if we are in Vegas and not A.C. The Borgata is comparable to the Bellagio or Venetian in Vegas! Very upscale, trendy, clean, and secure! Some complain that the hotel is not on the boardwalk but I think that is a great thing. The boardwalk is infested with seagulls and pigeons, criminals and other shady individuals, and low class shopping! The Borgata has upscale 5 star restaurants, trendy boutique shopping, and a wonderful casino. The pool is great, the room service is expensive but awesome! I love this place and will definitely re-visit!

“Not what is use to be”

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa

I have stayed at this hotel 2 or three times in the past and my expierience was always outstanding. The ball was dropped this time and sadly it was my birthday weekend. HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. Wish I would have tried Harrah's, as I have heard their service is outstanding. I work in a five diamond property in New York City and I don’t think I will ever be back after this years visit for a multitude of reasons. The room was not up to par with holes from cigarettes in the carpet although I requested non smoking room, the bathtub leaked and wood was chipping off the furniture. I asked for bath towels to soak up the water that poured out and I never received them and how is it a hotel of this caliber doesn’t have robes in the closet? My two biggest complaints were the club! I do not wait on line and I certainly do not expect to wait on line when I’m staying at a place. HUGE LINE. I cant even begin to say how many people were there. This doesn’t happen at The Garden City Hotel in Long Island nor does it happen at MGM Grand in Vegas. I assure you I was dressed in proper attire and was shocked to be told by two different club hosts even though I was staying with them I had to wait in line. (Unless I was a black card holder). THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE PERIOD. Especially that it was my birthday. Thankfully I ran into a nice gentleman (while on my way to the front desk to complain) that was having table service and he took me in immediatly Otherwise my night would have been a complete waste. Furthermore I went to see Chelsea Handler perform (she was fabulous) and afterward I waited on line for a half hour before another patron informed me she would not be signing books that were brought from home. A sign should have been posted -Buy a book and Chelsea will autograph it- I have never been to a book signing, I didnt know that was the way book signings worked. And what is going on in the casino? A friend of mine and I wanted to play black jack and the tables were booked for a LONG time-people are permitted to hold a seat. I can understand if you want to run to the bathroom, but people held seats for over 45 minutes. I have never heard of such a thing. This should be reserved for high rollers only. This is really unacceptable at a 25.00 table. Try Harrahs next time. I hear there pool party is off the hook and their guest are actually treated graciously.

“I thought the Borgata was high-end...”

Okay, so we just recently became card holders and they offered us a free room on the Thursday before the 4th of July. Awesome! We're card holders at several other hotels, and we had never stayed at the Borgata so we were very excited!

Our first room had a mouse in it.

Yes, you heard right. There was a mouse in the vent in the wall, and you could actually see it. It was clawing at the vent and one of the most terrifying things I had ever seen. When I called the front desk, they did not sound surprised AT ALL. I asked to be moved and I was moved but with no appologies. I asked if I would still be able to see the fireworks, and they replied, "Yes, Ma'am.... you'll see fireworks."

However, the next room had crumbs on the floor. We stayed for free, but the rooms we were in go for about $500 a night. We should have been upgraded or at least treated better- we are card holders.

Besides this, I'm not a fan of the slots that the Borgata has to offer. There are other reasonably priced hotels that are very friendly and have a lot of different types of slots available.

“The truth about the Borgata”

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa

Jul 6, 2008

My family and I stayed at the Borgata for 3 nights in June 2008. I play alot of poker and the borgata is known for the best poker room in A.C. and it's smoke free. My main concern when going to a hotel is having a clean room. I read some reviews about harrah's having mice problems, the tropicana getting fined for sanity reasons and the Taj's rooms smelling musty and old.Well the Borgata is immaculate, we got upgraded to a suite and the queen size beds were so comfortable. By far the best hotel bed I've slept in. The pillows were also great so you didn't feel like you were sleeping on a pancake. The rest of my family were in a standard rooms and they were very satisfied.

My mom and sister used the spa and said it was the best massage they've ever had. All in all the hotel is great. It's expensive but you get what you paid for.

I also read complaints about the borgata not being on the boardwalk. Shouldn't peeople know this when booking the hotel? The Borgata is in the marina area with harrah's and the trump marina hotel. How can people book the hotel and then complain about it? My sister used the borgata's Jitney shuttle to go to to the boardwalk and it was 2$ each way. She said it was fine and had no problems with it.

My one complaint about this hotel is the price. It's really expensive so obviously the restaurants will be pricey as well. Some of my folks tried the dinner buffet which was 30$ and they enjoyed it but 30$ is still pricey to get your own food. They have a cafeteria area with little restaurants serving burgers and pizza. The problem is if you want a nice sit down meal you'll have to pay alot of money, which we did. The Bobby felay steak house cooked the best fillet mignon I've ever had and it was one of the greatest meals our family had. But it cost and arm and a leg. So make sure you get the facts straight before booking the Borgata. But I can honestly say that you will be pleased with this hotel if you know the facts before booking.
