This hotel is right next to the Convention Center. So if you are going to a conference at this venue, the location is very convenient. However, if you want to hit the Casinos, walk the boardwalk and see the ocean....it is a bit of a hike (or a bus or taxi ride) to get there from the Sheraton.

The rooms were what you would expect from a Sheraton, clean and recently decorated (although my tub/shower had seen better days). One nice thing is that they have a couple of computers on the 2nd floor, next to the bar, where you can check your email and have a glass of wine at the same time.

The hotel is next to a microbrew place, called Tun's, which has good beer and burgers and the like.

“Unfortunate Stay in AC”

Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center

My wife and I recently stayed here while on vacation in Atlantic City; boy were we disappointed! The hotel property does have its positive aspects: well-appointed accomadations, an excellent location for shopping, a decent location for casinos, restaurants, and nightlife, and valet staff was very helpful with cabs, and directions/recomendations for restaurants.

Unfortunately, while these aspects of the hotel were extremely satisfying, they ultimately paled in comparison to the rudeness and incompetent staff in numerous departments. Check in was long, unprofessional and the clerk lacked basic knowledge about the property. For instance, upon arrival we asked if they could send up a rollaway bed for another guest in our room. It was also our request to have it sent up as soon as possible, which she assured us would not be a problem. However, after several hours and numerous calls to the front desk, we kept receiving the same answer that they will bring it up shortly. After the fourth call they finally told us that they did not have any rollaway beds left, but for some reason they managed to bring one by 1 am, (when we were sleeping). Considering we Checked in at 6 p.m and this was obviously a major inconvenience for tired travelers. We felt like the front desk could have been more open with us and could have made a better effort to insure that the bed had been delivered. I understand that the hotel is large, but there must be better communication between the front desk employees and houskeeping as well as the front desk and guests. Lies and rude remarks are not acceptable! Although this may seem like a petty incident this is something an alleged "four star hotel" should be able to handle and proves that the staff is not willing to go the "extra mile." Furthermore, our experience was also worsened by the extremely rude staff at the restaurant who obviously never learned how to treat guests. The food and variety were also sub par. (Go elsewhere!)
On the second day, it was also to our surprise when we returned to the room at around 6:30 that the room was not cleaned, so we called the front desk and the girl said that they would send someone up, and after an hour no one came. So fed up, we decided to forget about it. Check-out was interesting as we did speak with a supervisor, and told them about our stay and the numerous inconveniences and all they were able to say was that they were sorry and that we should have informed them about it. WHICH WE DID! It was a waste. I guess they don't know what a hotel stay at a "premier" property should be.
Additionally, we did have a chance to us the pool and fitness center which were nice, even though the pool is very small. In the future I think the hotel should also renovate its rooms, they seemed somewhat worn-out.
Overall, I do not recomend the hotel and especially would like to warn guests to stay away from the restraunts on the second floor. We are not picky people, but we do know when we have received good service and a comfortable stay.

Next time, we are going to the borgata! Will not return!

“I Loved the Sheraton”

I loved this hotel. I was worried about the hotel because of the price but we checked-in to the cheapest room available...so you never know what you will get but it was so perfect. It was clean. (and trust me I'm a freak with germs) The staff was very friendly making sure to call us to make sure the room was perfect and that we were comfortable. I will be returning to this hotel and I recommend you try it. I think you will be surprisingly happy! :)

“The Worst Ever”

Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center

We travel often and this was our worst ever visit 2 any hotel. We chose this hotel because my wife had 2 attend a convention here. Our second day return time of 5:00 was greeted by a dirty room which we had to call to have cleaned.

Our third day return time of 7:00 was again greeted 2 no cleaning.
We called down 2 complain and were told they would be right up 2 clean it.

Being so late, we told them not to bother. The paper thin walls contributed to our lack of sleep by the middle of the night return of our neighbors.

The pub, which we tried upon arrival 4 lunch, was atrocious. To top it off, our bell hop didn't show up for 30 minutes upon check out, as we were told he had the wrong room.

“Needs a makeover”

Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center

3 of 5 stars
new york

I've stayed here numerous times throughout the last 10 years, mostly because the price is reasonable and the establishment is clean and well-appointed - a true value for the money.

My most recent trip, the first in about 2 years, was disappointing. The facilities seem worn down by sun and age. The property used to be well adorned with dresses and fanfare from the past Miss America contests. Now that the pageant has moved on from A.C., the only remaining relics are the few faded dresses and crowns on display between the lobby and the elevators. The grounds around the property now contain a series of empty windows with faded tapestries and scraps of memorabilia that litter the bottom like trash, which makes the grounds feel like a ghost town.

The location of the hotel has actually improved...even though the place itself hasn't moved. That's because Atlantic City has built up the surrounding area with outlet shopping and restaurants. They are literally across the street from the hotel (although they are at the back of the hotel and there is no back entrance so you have to walk around the whole property). The cost of this convenience is found in parking, The Sheraton used to provide free parking in a lot where Applebees now sits. So the Sheraton now offers parking in the convention center at a cost of $12 for self parking and $17 for valet if you're a hotel guest. SPEND THE EXTRA $5 AND USE THE VALET. Walking through the barren convention center at 1 AM from the parking lot does not invoke feelings of safety and security.

Now, the rooms are still comfortable and I'll say that they are clean, but could stand to use some new paint and wallpaper, especially in the bathrooms. Everything just looks worn out. There's was some grime around the shower area, which is a pet peeve of mine. It actually was depressing because my memories of the place (from only a few years ago) were of a more vivid place. I guess they just haven't renovated, which I would think is mandatory in any hotel every few years. Even still, the rooms are OK unless you are picky or a looking for sparkle.

The fitness room is small, but effective. And the pool (indoor) and jacuzzi (outdoor) are basically no-frills but get the job done. I think of it as the equivalent of Walmart brand pretzels.

Overall, I'd say it's still a decent place to stay for the price of the room (especially when booked on Priceline or something like that). Starwood members have suffered by the change in their reward teirs as this hotel has become a 10,000 points per stay location when it used to be only 7,000. If you can't get a discounted room at a good casino, then this is the place for you.

Just wanted to send you a quick update to respond to items you mentioned in your recent review.

The 6 large display windows are currently under construction and we expect to have our new windows completed in the next 30 days. The Miss America gowns are all on display as always for our guests to enjoy.

We are opening a mini-spa in the next few weeks and our guests will be able to schedule message treatments in our hotel very soon.

We continue to make improvements to our hotel and hope that you will be able to comment on these new additions on one of your future visits.
