My wife and I recently stayed here while on vacation in Atlantic City; boy were we disappointed! The hotel property does have its positive aspects: well-appointed accomadations, an excellent location for shopping, a decent location for casinos, restaurants, and nightlife, and valet staff was very helpful with cabs, and directions/recomendations for restaurants.
Unfortunately, while these aspects of the hotel were extremely satisfying, they ultimately paled in comparison to the rudeness and incompetent staff in numerous departments. Check in was long, unprofessional and the clerk lacked basic knowledge about the property. For instance, upon arrival we asked if they could send up a rollaway bed for another guest in our room. It was also our request to have it sent up as soon as possible, which she assured us would not be a problem. However, after several hours and numerous calls to the front desk, we kept receiving the same answer that they will bring it up shortly. After the fourth call they finally told us that they did not have any rollaway beds left, but for some reason they managed to bring one by 1 am, (when we were sleeping). Considering we Checked in at 6 p.m and this was obviously a major inconvenience for tired travelers. We felt like the front desk could have been more open with us and could have made a better effort to insure that the bed had been delivered. I understand that the hotel is large, but there must be better communication between the front desk employees and houskeeping as well as the front desk and guests. Lies and rude remarks are not acceptable! Although this may seem like a petty incident this is something an alleged "four star hotel" should be able to handle and proves that the staff is not willing to go the "extra mile." Furthermore, our experience was also worsened by the extremely rude staff at the restaurant who obviously never learned how to treat guests. The food and variety were also sub par. (Go elsewhere!)
On the second day, it was also to our surprise when we returned to the room at around 6:30 that the room was not cleaned, so we called the front desk and the girl said that they would send someone up, and after an hour no one came. So fed up, we decided to forget about it. Check-out was interesting as we did speak with a supervisor, and told them about our stay and the numerous inconveniences and all they were able to say was that they were sorry and that we should have informed them about it. WHICH WE DID! It was a waste. I guess they don't know what a hotel stay at a "premier" property should be.
Additionally, we did have a chance to us the pool and fitness center which were nice, even though the pool is very small. In the future I think the hotel should also renovate its rooms, they seemed somewhat worn-out.
Overall, I do not recomend the hotel and especially would like to warn guests to stay away from the restraunts on the second floor. We are not picky people, but we do know when we have received good service and a comfortable stay.
Next time, we are going to the borgata! Will not return!
