The landscape beach hotel is a great hotel for a good price. The rooms are clean and comfortable-the staff very friendly-the pool is lovely and beach is brilliant -lovely and clean. We stayed bed & breakfast and the buffet breakfast is great but the evening menu i was not too keen on However it is so cheap to eat out-you must try it! Rainbow cafe in the centre of diadonghai(short walk) is fab.
Do not expect 5 star when it is a 3 star but clean & tidy and everything is sufficient. You must haggle with fruit sellers. From hotel a ride into daidonghai centre 2/3 yuan on the bike/sidecar -a taxi to sanya centre no more than 10 yuan (cross fingers means 10 as they knew no english). Other people in our group stayed at more expensive hotels in different resorts but this one is in the best place next to beach and shops/eating places a short walk away.

We stayed at the Landscape Beach Hotel from the end of August 2007 for 2 lovely weeks. Although there were a few slight problems to begin with....this was expected as their culture and way of doing things are totally different to ours. We soon got ourselves sorted and out doing stuff through organised trips such as the BUddah Park and Hot springs, through our rep David.
The staff at the hotel were lovely, especially max who spoke very good english, he was a trooper.
The rooms were lovely and the housekeeping came in every morning to put on new sheets and clean towels.
Although the food is very different to how you would imagine, we soon found our safe haven for food. ..The Rainbow Bar. The food was EXCELLENT, proper western food, and the staff there were very friendly. Also a couple of other good places to eat were Blue Lotus, and this russian restaurant.

The prices of everything was very cheap!!! less than £1 for a taxi, and for a beer.
The only problem we encountered was towards the end of the holiday when building work around the pool took place. However we were accomodated to use the pool in the hotel across the road from us.

Overall the trip was a brilliant experience and one ill never forget. I still find myself wandering into dream mode and imaginging im still there. We met also met some lovely people, and have taken away some great memories.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Landscape and although there was a few teething troubles during our stay,the staff and service was excellent.
The rooms are clean and tidy - the maids come everyday,clean the room,change sheets and towels and restock the mini-bar (which is more like a grocery store with everything from crisps,biscuits and peanuts to vacuum-packed chicken claws and underpants!)
The pool is really nice,clear and during the afternoon not that busy which was a good thing as there was not that many sunbeds.The beach is only 50 metres away and the Hotel has its own sunloungers and hammocks,plus lockers for you to store your valuables while you swim in the sea which can be a bit overpowering at times with some big waves coming in.
The main bar was being refurbished while we was there so the lobby bar was the place to get drinks,which were reasonably priced - about £1 for a bottle of beer but no draught.The restaurant food was ok but sometimes the food was not very hot which was a shame but Max,one of the restaurant managers,was very helpful and loved a good chat.
One of the best things about the Hotel is its location.With bars and restaurants within a five minute walk or a 30p taxi ride!
The Rainbow Bar is excellent with free pool,darts and bar-football and friendly english speaking staff.The food is also very good - burgers,steaks,etc - if you fancy a break from Chinese!Other Restaurants i can recommend are the Blue Lotus and the Russian restaurant styled like a log cabin which i can't remember the name of.Sky bar is good for cheap drinks (bogof until 11) and disco music.
Another thing i can recommend is the Airtours rep at the Landscape,David,who was excellent and did his very best to sort the minor problems out,although the Hotel manager had other ideas and very rarely kept him informed of building works,pool cleaning,etc.
We still had an excellent time and made some great friends who we will keep in touch with.

We have just reurned from 2 week holiday based at the Landscape beach hotel in Sanya.
The hotel was rated 3+ stars and I think this is a fair rating. The rooms and public areas are clean but the decor is a bit tired and needs freshening up. They had started some work while we were there so there was abit of hammering and the pool was out of action for a few days. The hotel staff had not informed mytravel about the intened work so the work came as a surprise to David the Rep. However arrangements were promptly made for the use of the pools at the hotel next door and across the road.
Sea view rooms can only be arranged with the staff at the hotel and at a supplement and cannot be pre booked at home.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Some of the front of house staff speak English well so any queries we had were not lost in translation

We stayed there on a bed and breakfast basis and the food was adequate with both chinese and western style foods available with quite a large variety on offer. However the milk is goats milk and is served warm.
Drinks are not that expesive with a beer costing 20RMB the exchange rate is around 14 RMB to £1

Eating out is no problem with several resaurants within a few minutes walk from the hotel. My favourite has to be the Blue oyster which served delicious chinese food. The Peking duck & the beef on fire are particularly good. Prices vary from restauant to restaurant but on average a meal for 2 with drinks will cost less than £10.

The hotel is on the beach there is a larrge variety of watersports on site but the language barrier could prove a problem. There are lifeguards patrolling the beach and a sectioned off bathing area. The beach is clean with plenty sunbeds and hammocks. The hotel also supply beach and pool towels

We booked a trip to Beijing on arrival in Sanya which meant that we did not have to check out of our room unlike those who booked the trip in the UK. The trip is mind blowing and should not be missed
