My wife and i flew out from Manchester on Sunday 09/09/2007 with My travel . We had paid for the upgrade to premiair gold, and we were both very disapointed with the service we got.
The aircraft was very dirty and the staff , well lets say monkeys could have done a better job.
We stayed at the Holiday inn Yalong bay , and it is a great hotel to stop at . The staff always speak and are very friendly and will do anything to help you, there is a small problem with their english and they are willing to learn from you, but if you have any problems there is a good english speaking member of staff at reception.
The food is of a very high standard and you can go back as many times as you like , the BBQ around the pool is a must, with free beer you cannot go far wrong.
The trip to Beijing is a real eye opener to the westners, as many of the Chinese have never seen us , and they do like to take your picture, and have a look to see how big your nose is , and that is what they call us (big noses)
We did a trip to see the terracotta warriors at Xian, we have to arrange this by ourselfs and it worked out about £320 pounds , this would have been alot cheaper if the reps had sold it, we got the feeling from our rep that it was alot of effort with no comission for him.
Our rep was called Rob and he`s a waste of space , if there was no comission in it for him he was not intrested in it , but if their was any freebies like food and the foot massage he was there, and there is so much to see and do in and around Sanya.
The flight home was very event full when we were both given the wrong seats after a near mutiny, we was aloud to sit in premiair gold and that is what i had paid for, the cabin staff was very rude to alot of the passengers.
My advice is go to China soon , before it gets to commercial and do not fly with My travel, because they are the worst in the airline in business.

We wanted a holiday with a difference & happily found it. Arriving at the hotel, after a long and tiring flight, we were pleasantly surprised by the good service that we received. We were alotted a sea-view room, on a non-smoking floor and found that the Chinese beds were very hard, which was quickly rectified after a phone call to the front-desk and a mattress change within 30 minutes. The room & en-suite was serviced every day, clean sheets & towels and a fully supplied bathroom with no need for any personal toiletries.
The Staff were really helpful, the food was great and the choice was endless.
The pool area was huge and loads of recliners and umbrellas & 'elephants' spouting cold water from their trunks (they were stone elephants) which was very cooling in the tropical heat.
The grounds of the hotel were very well kept and the beach was beautiful.
It was great fun to watch the Chinese go swimming at the end of the day, mostly half clothed, as they had a disaffection to sunbathing !
We also had 3 days excursion to Beijing which should not be missed, Tinan'amen square, Great-Wall, Silk Factory, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven and not to forget Beijing Duck Mmmmmmmmmm !
Our tour guide, Robbie was very helpful & informative.
We were welcomed back to the Holiday Inn, like long-lost friends and are pleased to say that the Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, at all times of the day.
We would highly recommend this holiday and would certainly return to Yalong Bay, like a shot.

I have just return home after a three weeks vacation in China. Me and my girlfriend stayed at five different hotels during the time, two in Beijing and three in Hainan. One of them was Holiday Inn Resort Yalong Bay for four nights.
Before we went I spent many hours on the internet searching for great hotels in the whole of Sanya area and i´m very pleased that we chose to stay at Holiday Inn Yalong bay. Considering lobby lounge and the panoramic view, the room, the staff, the food, poolarea, beach and price this is my nr 1 in Hainan (so far).
If I go back I will defenitely spend a couple of nights at Holiday In Yalong bay but also try one or two of the other hotels in the area that I haven´t seen yet, like Gloria and Sheraton.
By the way - their club sandwich is an excellent snack to enjoy by the poolside. Have fun!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Yelong Bay on 2/25/07 - 3/1/07 For $30 the upgrade for a ocean view suite is worth it! 95 percent of the people who stay there are chinese. The staff are very nice and helpful and the pool is great! The only thing is that the beds are hard (I think because chinese like hard beds) and there is not much to do there besides the beach and the pool.

The food is pricey but if you can get a ocean view suite (Great ocean view!!) for $130 to $150 then I will book this place.
