“Nice Little Hotel & Great Breakfast”

I rated this hotel 4 stars ('above-average' ) for it's overall value, not for it's ammenities or luxury. What you're getting here is a pleasant, clean room at a reasonable rate.

My two negative comments:

-I like the SE Asian approach to A/C -- ie. it only comes on when the room key is inserted into the thermostat -- however, I thought the A/C unit in my room at the Bopha Angkor to be very weak for the size of the room & it took quite a while to cool the room (over an hour).
-the hotel backs onto a residential area & I was woken at 6 am each morning by barking dogs (my room was behind the restaurant)

But these are not big criticisms. The rooms were clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was really good, served in a lovely al fresco restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bopha Angkor and would definitely recommend it. All the previous reviewers' comments I would agree with. The staff were so helpful and always willing to be of assistance, although at times their English was limited. We arrived at 8am off an early flight and were able to have breakfast and sit by the pool until our rooms were ready (towels were even brought out to us after our swim). The room we had was comfortable and clean though the mosquito nets had the odd hole! A problem with a leaking ceiling after a heavy rainstorm was sorted out promptly and with assurances that another room would be found if the leak couldn't be fixed. Location was perfect, within walking distance of the market and restaurants but away from the noise. Excellent restaurant - and brilliant breakfast freshly cooked and beautifully presented. They arranged our ferry tickets to Battambang and even provided us with breakfast at 5.30am on the morning we were leaving - and with the usual friendly manner. Many 4 star hotels could learn a lot about how to treat their guests from the staff of this 2 star hotel. I can find nothing to fault them on.
We would definitely stay at the Bopha Angkor again, and it made our visit to Siem Reap one to remember for all the right reasons.

This is a great spot! The rooms are decorated in traditional Khmer style and something to behold! The grounds are gorgeous, there's a lovely pool and a restaurant with above average food (not cheap tho). The rooms are clean and have a/c and a ceiling fan, each room is equipped with a can of RAID however, for a reason. The mosquito nets are not just for show, and they don't just keep out mosquitos...and I suggest you keep you luggage zipped up at all time so as not to inadvertently take home a stowaway. The staff are pleasant but we found they were unable to answer our questions a lot of the time. Rooms are moderately priced and worth it.

We were upgraded to the bungalow suite since the hotel was completely booked. The suite had an outdoor shower/tub and bathroom. Inside it was spacious and nicely decorated. The suite has a computer with internet access. The staff is very courteous and arranged for a driver and guide for us for Angkor Thom/Angkor Wat. Our guide, San, was very informative and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here.

“Great little hotel”

My wife, son and I had a wonderful stay for several days here. Salt water pool was refreshing, room air conditioning a great relief at the end of a hot day, and mosquito netting great for worry-free sleeping at night. Staff was very helpful and food was terrific. Outstanding location: short walk to market, but far enough away from any noise.

The rooms are simple, a bit worn, but definitely comfortable with nice ambience. Great shower pressure. Did need to use the thoughtfully provided Raid Insect Killer spray on a big cockroach one evening.

Great value for the money!
