Mandalay Inn is a great little guesthouse well worth it's cost.
Stayed from 8 December through 11 December in room 204.
Guesthouse grounds are very clean. Reception desk sits outside and is staffed by efficient and capable staff. Restaurant has indoor or outdoor seating and is staffed by an equally capable staff. All are well aware that customer service is number one. Extent of menu is simple but more than adequate. Khmer, Thai/Asia, Vegetarian, and Western foods offered. Most menu items cost less than $5/USD. They do also have sitting area for guests to congregate and chat. Really family oriented style. Nice atmosphere.
Room was spotless and roomy. Two very large windows. No view, no problem. Nice drapes. Good strong electrical lighting. Very powerful multi-directional ceiling mounted fan and air conditioner. Fan so strong that it blows paper items around room if not weighted down. Nice after a hot day at the temple grounds.
Bed very comfortable and soft. Nightstand, small storage shelf and television. House slippers. One standing coat rack for hanging clothing.
Bathroom immaculate, functional and larger than most hotel bathrooms. Large mirror, sink and toilet. Open shower with lots of hot water, no problem. Linens, towels and small bar soap provided. All for $15/USD a night.
In my humble opinion, a great value for so little price.
Conveniently located a five minute walk away from the noise of
the main street hotels, other guesthouses, traffic and bars. Safe, clean and good service. Will use this guesthouse again.
