I have stayed here many times over the last decade, sometimes with my partner, sometimes with the kids, but have always had an exceptional stay. Everything about this place hit the right note for us. extremely relaxing, from the pool bar, to the pool, to the grassed area with a cold drink, to the Coco Cabana bar, and onto the chairs in the sea. Inside the rooms were great, staff very friendly, and the restaurants were really top notch. So I write this full of nostalgia, as the best hotel on the beach is, to be blunt, being flattened in August to make way for new development.
I have happy memories of this place, of chilling relaxing, enjoying the ambience, we never left the hotel during our stays, everything we needed was right there, so I feel a little sad. I looked over it for last time and found it hard to believe that a hotel in such good nick, and so popular, was being razed to the ground within weeks.
Such is the development in Dubai I guess, but I thought that would be one little 'oasis' that would remain untouched, sadly its not the case.
Time to mingle with the suits and the snobbery at one of Jumeirahs more 'accepted' hostelries, but even though Ritz Carlton, Hilton, Madinat and the other boys probably have great accommodation, the Oasis Beach was more than that, it was a regular home from home, and I wil miss it immensely.
Bye Bye to the best hotel I ever stayed in.
