I am heading back to the UK for a wedding from Australia and have booked this hotel for a 3 day stop over for some much needed R&R. I now realize this was a poor choice. I have visited Dubai several times and normally stay elsewhere but being a Starwood card holder thought I would get some points on my card. So, having booked a Royal Club room I emailed reservations to 1) Confirm a car transfer as my arrival is early 2) to confirm my Starwood account number so I get my points and 3) to ask for an early check in as I arrive at 5.30am. Simple! You would think. After sending 2 emails and getting no reply I called reservations to be told 1) A car 'should' be there 2) they are part of the Starwood group but don't accept their loyalty card and 3) If I want to check in early I must pay for an extra night! So I am just about to check the availability at Jumeirah Beach Hotel - my usual choice. It's more expensive but the service is superb - so sorry I am not even willing to give this 'hotel' a go!

Stayed here for 5 nights and was very impressed.

Thanks to reading earlier reports I emailed thier reservations
before arriving and kindly asked them for a room with a terrace overlooking the pool as the majority of the rooms dont have a terrace etc my room was 1138. I was told that this would cost me extra but on arrival they arranged it for me for free. The hotel is very large with many pools and many restaurants. They have a area called the Le meridien villiage where they have various restaurants bars indoors and outdoors with live music etc most nights. Dubliners irish bar is great to watch any football.

The room was standard size as to most 4 star hotels but was very clean and modern. Our luggage was taken to the room on arrival and fresh fruit and water and ice was delivered every day complimentary. The afternoon turndown service was good especially after a little afternoon snooze.

The best thing of all with this hotel is that you can use the facilities at the Royal meridien on Jumeriah beach for about £14 per person which includes the transfer there and back and use of changing rooms lockers and towels. This only applies on certain days of the week.

The business centre is great. Raplh sorted us out with our tours and got us on the guest list for one of dubai's best clubs Budoir.

The restuarants are excellent with great service and great food. There are so many to choose from all with specials throughout the week.

So near to the airport but you do not notice you are so close. Plus on departure you dont have to travel far in all the traffic.

Would definatley stay here again.

Ideal location if you are taking a stopover. From sorting out a travel agent's mistake to getting us safely to the airport, we met only excellent service. Room brilliant, wonderful piano bar, spoilt for choice of restaurant. Most efficient business centre of the 12 hotels we visited on our trip.

from the moment i checked in my nightmare started my flight was not due to leave for thailand till 9 am the following day i left the meridien at 3 am i just wanted OUT i found it more comfortable waiting in the airport,
i hated the bars there especialy Jules bar painted all white i will never stay there any more
