My brother asked me to write this after his stay this past weekend. It is a lovely, lovely hotel. It is charming, beautifully decorated, well located, good service, etc.
The one down point - what is with all these new hotels touting themselves as dog-friendly over the needs and wants of their non-dog-owning clientele? I love dogs, my brother loves dogs, but we are not dog owners, and we do not want to sleep where the pooches have. The management assured him that they charge more for rooms where the dogs are so as to pay for specialized cleaning equipment, but we have an alternative suggestion - dog-friendly rooms, leaving the remainder dog-free for the rest of us.
A local cab driver intimated to my brother that fleas have been found in several rooms where the dogs have been, but I have NO PROOF OF THIS. But the possibility thereof thrills us not.
As usual, Westin hit a home run with the hotel itself, and bravo to them for that. But, please, do not let the dog people have the run of the place, OK? There are more of us out there than them.
