A lovely, peaceful hotel in the heart of Cusco, immediately opposite the Quoricancha museum. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We were impressed with the level of service and the care they showed us in the middle of the night. Coca tea on the boil 24hrs a day and oxygen available if you need it. Well laid out common areas and full range of breakfasts. The hotel prices were understandably above outside restaurants etc but not exorbitant. On the down side our room (and othere would testify) were hot. Opening the windows was a noisy option. Some people got moved into the inner quadrangle, but the heat is still a problem. I hear that the hotel is planning air conditioning next year. Would recommend this to anyone

Nice hotel. The rooms are very similar to a Holiday Inn, nice but basic. The lobby is very nice, many areas to sit and relax.. The hotel does provide Coca tea day and night. This is helpful for those who suffer from elevation sickness. They also have oxygen that I saw a few people using. The breakfast was a nice buffet. The tables surround a beautiful courtyard.

The hotel is right across the street from the Santo Domingo convent monastery. The hotel is centrally located and within a 5 minute walk of the main plaza. There are many restaurants in the area and shopping is everywhere. We felt very safe walking around the area at night. We took well lit streets and there were police around and many tourists.

We stayed at Libertador as part of a South America Tour we took with Varig. Its a converted classy colonial building fronting a hispanic church. Beautiful big rooms. Great breakfast and Dinner (folkloric show). Santo Domingo across the street had a concert of sacred choral music. The staff was friendly and overall a great place. I loved the colonial feel of the place and free internet(that time) in the lobby.

The only difficulty we had was, though not hotel-related, was Cuzco's high altitude which my "overweight" father had difficulties moving about (though the hotel had altitude sickness combating tea as well as oxygen masks off the lobby).

A lovely, comfortable, helpful hotel to stay in whilst you get used to the altitude of Cusco. Every last detail had been considered. It was also a great place to which to come back after walking the Inca trail. Great breakfast.
