Stayed twice in this hotel..this hotel is located close to Bugis MRT/Bugis Junction about 5 minutes walk..We booked a deluxe from the hotel website itself cost about 90sgd..very old building but they refurbished it..

Room is very clean, bathroom is spotless..room size was good..coffee and tea making facilities, in room DVD player. Asked for a double bed but they joined the twin..but it wasn't a problem for me..

Staff i saw were mostly senior citizens..hmm..i wonder why? They were not so friendly..but ok..An antique lift in the hotel..love it!They also have a small lounge for reading and a sun deck area for smoking or drinking..there's a good chinese restaurant downstairs..i love their Hainanese chicken rice!

Great Stay! Will definately visit again if the price is not increasing!

We booked this place based on its cost and supposedly good location (according to previous reviews).

The hotel sits on a relatively empty block of land. The only other thing here is the large hot air balloon for tourists. I have no idea why there were no other developments here.

I disliked this hotel for three reasons: 1. A virus on their internet machines wiped all the photos on my USB stick (and formatted the drive with zeros to make data recovery impossible). 2. Having to pay S$1 per 15 minutes to use their dodgy slow internet. 3. The open window in the bathroom letting in hot air, forcing us to keep the bathroom door closed at all times so that the A/C would be effective.

The previous reviews have seriously over-rated this hotel. Its location is not so centralized when you consider just how small Singapore is. Sure, the hotel is right next to Bugis station. But Singapore is so small, everything is close to everything =P.

Reception was rather lazy and casual. They weren't very welcoming or friendly or enthusiastic. But then again, most of the Singaporeans I encountered weren't exactly very jolly either. Is this a part of their culture?

We paid for two deluxe rooms, the most expensive room, so were happy with the room size. Beds were good and the room was clean. I think other rooms had to share a communal bathroom and toilet, and there weren't many toilets.

In summary, you get what you pay for here. Low price for budget accommodation. Don't let previous reviewers fool you into believing this place is any sort of bargain. I can only recommend this hotel to budget conscious travellers.

We spent 4 nights at the new 7th storey, and have no complaints. We were travelling on a budget, and with the prices of hotels in Singapore at the moment were really struggling to find somewhere decent. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was basic but a good size, had fridge, tv, kettle and cups, and a decent sized bathroom. The room was cleaned every day, and we found the bathroom to be spotless.

Location is fantastic! right next to Bugis MRT station, which we used quite a lot to get around.

Overall, great value for money. There is a luggage store where you can leave your bags after you've checked out. This was handy for us as our flight didn't leave until late at night.

Would definately stay there again, and would recommend to others who are on a budget.

I searched Trip Advisor for somewhere to stay in Singapore, and for whatever reason, really couldn't pin anything down. I kept coming back to the review for the New 7th Storey Hotel.

Anyway, what did we find? For one thing there's more than 7 storeys!! The hotel dates from 1953, and it has been extended upwards since then. The inside looks as if it was built in 1953, BUT it was clean, there was a comfortable bed, clean linen, everything worked, there was air conditioning. The hotel was central too, and not too far from the airport.

There is a choice at this hotel, to stay backpacker style or to have a room to yourselves, which is what we did. There was no breakfast facility, but there was a kettle etc.

This place seems totally unlike all the other hotels we spotted, which seemed luxurious. BUT this one was so cheap!
