Located in a serene residential area (5 min. uphill walk from Little India MRT station), Hangout offers a clean, hip and no-frill accommodation option for travelers. The hotel has a wide range of room choices (twin, triple, quad, quin) for travelers with different budgets.

I had a twin room to myself. The room is rather small and the facilities are basic (e.g. no wardrobe, only hanging rack, no hairdryer), but for the price I paid, the room definitely exceeded my expectation. Breakfast is included in the room rate. There are 6 computer stations with free internet and free WIFI for those who carry their own laptops. Lovely rooftop garden.

After a disappointing experience at another small hotel, we decided to try Hangout @, and I'm so glad we did! Despite having made the internet booking only moments before from an internet cafe, the staff at Hangout honoured the lower internet booking price, and when we changed to larger more comfortable room the following day (that room was not available when we first arrived) they again gave us the internet booking price.

Despite being a no-frills hotel, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They stored my friend's medicine which required refrigeration in a staff fridge behind the check-in counter, and they were very understanding and helpful when our car alarm went off and wouldn't stop!

Having a car, the free parking at Hangout was a great relief, especially after all the expensive on-street-parking-only boutique hotels in Chinatown. Without a car it might have been difficult to reach, but with a car it was accessible and central.

The rooms are clean, bright and quietly stylish. The rooftop lounge and views are beautiful. The park next door convenient for relaxing walks. Breakfast was fine, the restaurant stylish. Free internet access was definitely appreciated. In all, absolutely worth it!

Stayed in the Hangout @ Mt Emily for 3 nights, 4 weeks ago and I found the rooms to be modern and basic, all I needed really. Great value! Free internet, tea and coffee facilities and laundary. Only thing, the hotels location is a bit away from the public transport. There is a restaurant, Wild Rocket attached to the hotel and a bar next door.

Excellent no-frills budget accommodation. We stayed in a double room that had its own washroom. The room was clean and spacious, had A/C, a rather nice view, and was very quiet. Free internet on 5 computers was a nice. The price was also quite good - we paid something like $60 USD per night. Would come back in a heartbeat. Found it hard to find a room for part of our trip, so book early.
Main downsides are that the hotel is quite bare-bones e.g. no outgoing calls from your room, they don't change your towels/sheets, etc. The hotel is also about 15 mins from the nearest MRT station (and this includes a fair hike up a hill), so you will likely need to rely on taxis a bit (which aren't that expensive)
