Arrived at Lloyds late afternoon after having booked 2 standard rooms a month in advance via their website. On arrival, was told we only have one standard room but we have a superior room but that will cost you another $40. Despite a heated exchange, there was no compromise despite our original bookings and was told "take it or leave it". Staff on duty were unhelpful and rude. Due to the late timing, we stayed however they refused Amex, Mastercard or a Visa Debit card.
Got to the rooms which were a disgrace. Last painted in probably the 1960's musty and despite Singapores no smoking policy, both rooms smelt of cigarette smoke. Carpets were worn and stained. Bed was like a rock. Very old and outdated. Couch covered in stains.
Outside our rooms were the morning's housekeepers trolly with used sheets and rubbish.
Be a good hotel to convert into boarding kennels for animals.
Do yourself a favour whilst in Singapore and stay elsewhere. Much better hotels around for same price who care about the clients and priovide quality accommodation.
