this is my 2nd time in singapore in less than a year. we then stayed in Golden Landmark hotel but this time we treated ourselves to a higher class hotel. we enjoyed our stay in OH. the only problem we encountered was upon checking in we have to wait for an hour coz the rooms are still being made. no worries since we arrived lunch time so we decided to tour the hotel and found ourselves several restos in the orchard shopping arcade (which is like a mini mall within the hotel) for our lunch. we then proceeded to the orchard wing (orchard wing has elevators separate from the claymore wing which is on the other side). we later found out the rooms have different looks and amenities. even if our rooms were both standard one room has: 32" wall mounted LCD tv, see through toilets with separate shower/bathtub, more storage for luggages, pool view, 4ft high mirrors. the other room we had: 21" LCD tv, no separate shower/bathtub. but then again, no worries for us. the hotel is around 10 minutes walking distance from the orchard mrt. but we didn't mind coz along the way you'll pass by several shopping malls, 7-eleven, grocery/convenience stores, money changers, pharmacies, restos, etc. if you want a hotel really near the orchard mrt you better stay at the more expensive Marriott Hotel which is literally just across the mrt station. we toured the city most of the time by mrt (so better buy that EZ card) coz it's faster/cheaper and at times we use taxi cabs. the hotel is just walking distance to the shopping malls along orchard road. contrary to what the other guests have mentioned, the staff were friendly and helpful. they have wide selection of foods for breakfast buffet but during our 4-day stay there the buffet menu spread was never changed. i will definitely stay here again if i come back to singapore.
