To start, decent hotels in Singapore are quite expensive, so when my girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere nice but cheapish, for 2 nights, the Bayview was one of the best choices. The hotel is in a good location on Bencoolen st. Approx 5 minutes walk to Raffles and about 10 to Orchard Road, it is a good touring base. The hotel itself is ok. It is rated as a 4 star but does not live up to a European 4 star. The room was quite small, but adequate. The breakfast was average and the staff were ok, not the friendliest we've encountered, but at the same time we had no issues. Overall, our stay was fine. If you are on a budget then I would recommend this hotel for its location, but if you are prepared to splash out a bit, there are plenty of other better places

I booked about a month early for this hotel and was very happy with the hotel itself. The staff were very helpful and room service was excellent. It was a very clean and well kept hotel. We did not use any of the facilities but the location of the hotel was excellent for the centre of town and for a night-time jaunt to the Raffles hotel for the singapore sling!

Check-in was easy, and even though some had mentioned that the lifts were noisy, we were opposite them and did not hear anything. I would highly recommend this hotel and don't believe that paying more would get you better service or cleaner rooms.

Bayview Hotel Singapore

Had a two night stop over here on my way from Australia to Germany in October 2007. The hotel is a good choice for a short stop over, not sure the room is large enough if you were staying for a week as it is a bit on the small side and the view from my room was just a brick wall which wasn’t really an issue as I wasn’t in the room during the day and made the room feel private at night.

Check in was quick and efficient and room 714 was in working order except for one light above the minibar and the shower curtain had a bit of what I am assuming was mould on it.
The room had everything you need, comfortable bed, TV, fridge, but only 1 armchair plus another at the desk so if there were two of you in the room only one would get a comfortable chair. The bathroom looks like it has been recently updated and had a fresh modern look to it.

Breakfast was included in my rate but was on the disappointing side and below par compared to the rest of the hotel, ok if included in the price but probably not worth paying extra for.

The location is great basically at the very bottom of Orchard Road, I found it an easy enough walk up Orchard Roadto Scotts Road and down to the Marina area, Raffles Hotel and the river area. Next door to the hotel is a 7-11 which is handy for basic items and on the corner is a very popular local café that seems to be open 24/7.

Nice rooftop pool with a bit of a view over the surrounding area. Also on the top floor they have a washer and dryer which I didn’t use but would assume it is for guests plus changing rooms which you can use after you check out for a shower if you have a late night flight like I did.

I stayed 5 nights at the city bayview hotel and I found it nice, clean and in a good location. Breakfast was good and with a lot of different choices, the roon was in order and clean. Staff at the hotel is very polite and charming. Surely a good value for the price.
