My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 13 nights at the end of March/beginning of April. I cannot recommend it too highly. It is a good hotel made a great one by the staff, who are all, without exception, the friendliest, most pleasant and helpful people I have encountered in any hotel worldwide. They all deserve an immediate pay rise!
The hotel is nearing the end of a complete renovation, although we saw no sign at all of this going on during our stay. Our room was of ample size and exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had a club room on the 15th floor, which meant the bathroom contained a bath tub as well as large separate (rain) shower. It was well stocked with toiletries which were replenished daily. One oddity is the large plate glass window between the bathroom and the sleeping area - but it has a blind which can be drawn for privacy. There was a good sized desk in the room, a huge bed, a flat screen TV mounted on the wall and a mini bar which is stocked with complimentary soft drinks, water and beer, replenished daily. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was a hairdryer, ironing board and iron and a safe, but no clock.
Although the room was occupied by two people, there was only one bath robe provided (but two pairs of slippers). I have no idea why one bathrobe in a double occupied room seems to be the norm in so many hotels.
A club room entitles you to use the club lounge on the 15th floor, where complimentary breakfast (a very wide choice of hot and cold, local and western dishes) and afternoon tea (again hot and cold, local and western dishes) is served. Between 6.00pm and 8.00pm complimentary alcoholic drinks and hot and cold food is available. This is advertised as cocktails and canapes, but in fact you can have any alcoholic drink you want, and the food is more substantial than you might expect. Unless you have a very hearty appetite you could easily survive on the complimentary food provided. There are two PCs in the lounge for guests to use.
A word of warning to smokers - this really is a 100% non smoking hotel. There was an ashtray situated outside the hotel for guests to use when we arrived, but it had been removed by the end of our stay. It is not illegal to smoke in the street in Singapore, but it is clearly disliked by many Singaporeans, who make their distaste very clear.
The hotel has a bus stop right outside and the MRT underground rail system is just a few minutes walk away. If I am lucky enough to visit Singapore again I will certainly stay in this hotel.
