I booked my stay directly with the hotel. I got a much better rate than the big travel sites, and it included an enormous breakfast buffet. The room was well furnished with a roomy and well equipped bath. It had a separate shower stall, but it had a waterfall showerhead and a hand held head. The hotel was quiet. The staff was great, especially Ibrahim at the concierge desk. The location was perfect. The MTR subway stop was a block away. There is an amazing amount of shopping and dining on Orchard Road. Taxis are very cheap, about S$16 from the airport to the hotel. The taxi drivers put the pedal to the metal, so hold on. The MTR line will take you to the downtown area. The hotel bar has a live band most of the nights. The lobby was was nicely decorate. There is free internet access at the business center for 15 minutes, if you need a pc to check email. There is also somone to help you with faxes and other things.

Had five days six night staying at the Royal Plaza. Whilst the room was basic it was well furnished, the view from our window was of a building next door but we just kept the blinds closed and didn't worry about it. The bar fridge is stocked daily with FREE ! small cans of softdrinks & beer (total of four ) and bottled water ( 2 or 3 if I recall ) Used the swimming pool & gym which are open from about 6.30am most mornings before going out into the humidity. Always used the pool upon our return in the afternoon to cool off.Great buffet breakfast kept us going until well in the afternoon.Looked in on the nightclub on the 1st floor but found drink prices were rather expensive, There is plenty of other entertainment within a two minute walk We visited the Multiplex cinema at the corner of Orchard Road on two occasions prices were Aust $ 5 each, a third of the price of cinemas in Australia. Borders Books and most other shops stay open to very late at night so it was not unusual to be shopping at close to midnight literally next door to the hotel
There was an MRT station about 5 mins walk away to speed tyou away in clean comfort to get to see some of the sites. The Singapore Botanical Gdns are a gentle though sweaty 20 minute walk. to the west . Great shopping nearby and countless restaurants would especially recommend the very clean and cheap food Court shops in the Tang Shopping Centre. Hotel staff were very attentive and cheerful always willing to assist with any enquires, check in was prompt and un-complicated especially after a long flight. Didn't use the wireless internet but the hotel has a small business centre with internet access although guests are restricted to 15mins useage, which was sufficient to check and send e-mails and arrange internet check in for the return flights. All in all a very memorable stay in Singapore

Hotel is clean and neat with attractive lobby. Rooms are quiet and comfortable except for badly designed and uncomfortable desk chair, but ours at least had only a view of ugly highrises next door.

Free very fast wireless internet.

Breakfast buffet is good but not fantastic, quite expensive, and noisy (music turned up too loud). Borders' coffee shop just 80m down the street has a quiet, good coffee shop with much more reasonable prices.
