“Large, spacious, modern luxury corporate hotel”

Royal Plaza on Scotts

In general can't fault this hotel. Centrally situated to shopping area and Metro (MRT). Large spacious modern room (on request - so don't asume all are!) with free mini bar and Wifi flat screen air con and plenty of power points . Our bathroom was shower only so check for bath option if this is important to you! Large self service buffet resaurant with amazing choice of asian european food. Service - polite efficient all round especially concierge. The pool and gym are small but adaquate. However be aware that the pool is next to the conference centre and delegates were spilling out near us during their seminar breaks making it a little hard to relax at times. But the conference room was not occupied daily and it has to be born in mind that Singapore is a city not a resort break.

“Comfortable and welcoming”

Royal Plaza on Scotts

This is a terrific hotel close to shopping and good places to eat. The check-in was efficient and friendly, the lobby warm and interesting, the room spacious and comfortable including a great bed! One negative was the bathroom was somewhat unclean when we arrived there and unfortunately continued not to be cleaned properly during our stay. It was annoying but didn't seem bad enough to complain about. The staff were always very friendly and always keen to assist with our sightseeing plans. Excellent facilities including free wi-fi, free mini-bar replenished daily - although we found the temperature of the beer was no where near the Aussie standard (ie not cold enough!!), nice pool area, buffet breakfast was excellent and newspaper delivered daily. We loved our stay here.

“Nothing special but good location”

Best thing about this hotel is the location. It is right near to Orchard Road and the plentiful shopping, also near to the MRT station and right by a bus stop.

Having said that, the hotel is nothing special at all. The rooms are small and have no view although there is free Wifi and mini bar (soft drinks and Tiger beer).

The breakfast was costly although the selection was quite good. However since there is a MacDonalds right outside, it is worth nipping out for a coffee and Breakfast muffin there if that's all you need!

Prices for hotels in Singapore are getting out of hand so this did represent some value for money but I would sooner pay a little bit more for a bit more luxury and a nicer view.

“great stay at Royal Plaza again..”

Royal Plaza on Scotts

4 of 5 stars
Amsterdam

I'm just back from my second stay at the Royal Plaza.
Both times were for business, so I'm not sure how the holiday traveller will find the hotel...

I found whole experience pleasent and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size and the complimentary internet and mini bar a nice touch for Singapore.

The bathrooms are nice with sufficiant toiletries for long haul destination, should your luggage get delayed there's enough here to keep you going.

The location is also a great plus point if you are looking for a hotel in the middle of the hustle and bustle and, of course shopping, of Orchard.

There's plenty of eating options around, and one of my favourite vegatarian restaurants is just a short walk away!..Singapore is such a safe place I've never felt uncomfortable as a lone female traveller walking around alone after dark.

However if you happen to be near the Hyatt or Mariott across the road you'll notice the presence of prostitutes hanging around outside the hotels, which may make you feel uncomfortable...coming from Amsterdam, I'm not bothered....but I've witnessed none of this at the Royal Plaza.

The gym facilites are pretty small here, one tredmill, bike, step machine, weight maching and free weights. Which is fine and I've only ever been the 2nd or 3rd person in the there, but I do miss the sauna/steam facilities that are usually found in 4/5 star hotels in Singapore, especiall after the long flight.

Overall I would (and have) recommend this hotel, the price is good, but I have noticed it rise since my last visit. I fthis continues I think I'll go back to the Hyatt as the facilities are much more varied...which is what you pay for.

This is my 2nd stay at Royal Plaza on Scotts, and there is no doubt I will stay here again. The prices of Singapore hotels had increased substantially over the years, and if only Royal Plaza on Scotts would maintain its price, this would be a good hotel to stay.

Great location, moderate breakfast and wonderful service. Rooms are clean and adequate though nothing luxurious.

Do consider this hotel for its location, good service and quality rooms.
