If you think you are coming to a 4 star hotel you will be very disappointed. The hotel is clearly old and not in the charming way. Old furniture, bed, tv etc.

We asked to be moved from our first room because we could here the guests in the room next to ours through the paper thin connecting door. I asked if they had a room that doesn't have a connecting door; they said "no problem." We arrived in our second room only to find a connecting door. 3 times is the charm; they had 1 room available with no connecting door; a smoking room.

We opted for smoking over yapping. Smoke poored through the a/c vents all night.

For the price, find something else. This is not a 4 star property. I have stayed in nicer 3 star hotels in Singapore for half the price.

We only had two nights at the Le Meridien after staying at the very luxurious The Venetian at Macau and at first were very disappointed. Yes, it is dated BUT the staff were exceptional. Me Me on the reception, Edwin the Concierge, and Tony on the Starwood desk couldn't have done more to help. Because we were leaving near midnight we were given a late check out and the use of a room to shower before we left. It is within walking distance to a station, Plaza Singapura next door and the bus on Orchard Road stops right out front! Even though the rooms were dated the staff responded to our every need. I would stay there again.

This place is looking a bit rundown now and is in need of a renovation quick-smart!, the lobby this quite nice and the rooms are a reasonable size but are looking very tired. The hotel is not really in a good location and it is up the wrong end of Orchard Road, and it is very had to get into and out of the hotel, you have to walk through a rundown shopping mall. I would not recommended this place to anyone unless they are just looking for a bet in between flights!

I have stayed in Singapore for many years and I knew this hotel because we arranged many business guest to stay here due to corporate contract. And this is the first stay when I have to leave Singapore for my business transfer.
Room size is quite wider than the other hotels in same level of Singapore.
Staff service is also better than the other hotels, I believe.

Found many complaint of Euopean on this website and I can understand the reason why they found many minor. The name of hotel is " Le Meridien " but it's not exactly same as their Euopean branch. I am very surprised to see the difference of Meridien between Paris and Singapore on starwood website.

Simply to say, this hotel is not 5 star hotel. But this hotel is still much better than the others with this prices.

You may have some chance to find good budget room occasionally and then you should take it. The hotel is located at center of Singapore and many taxi calls to the hotel. You can finish most of the issues of your purposes.
