“Valley Wing - Superb”

Stayed for 5 nights in Jan 08 on our way to langkawi. Previously stayed in an executive tower wing room but decided to try the Valley Wing - Not dissapointed at all - The rooms are plush and decorated to the highest standard - the mini bar is quite an experience as is the room service. Champagne and shorts free from 10am and you really can drink as much as you like. Free nibbles and sandwiches. The al a carte breakfast is the best we have ever tried. The eggs benedict is a really gorgeous meal. Staff go beyond the call of duty and make the stay very very special, nothing is too much trouble. The only problem we can see is that once you have done the valley wing experience nothing else compares!! Cant wait to go back .

“Blew our minds!”

We arrived at the Shangri-la for a post 3 night stay after our Superstar Gemini cruise to give us something to look forward to.
We had booked into the Horizon Club in the Tower Wing which gave us some extra luxuries like buffet breakfast, late checkout etc. When we checked in we were told they had upgraded us to the Valley Wing which was a wonderful surprise as I had read about it on Tripadvisor so knew what to expect!

The rooms were magnificent... with every little luxury you could imagine.... L'Occitane products in the huge bathroom, t.v. in the bathroom, chocolates everynight, complimentary fruitbowl, complimentary Chinese tea,... the list goes on.

To say the breakfasts were to die for is an understatement! The fresh fruit was so beautifully laid out and exotic that I even bypassed the pastries every day just to eat the fruit. I overindulged so much just at breakfast because it was so irresistable and never ever had to eat lunch while I was there.

Moet champagne was free flowing and complimentary every day and the waiters were always around ready to top your glass up or tempt you with a cocktail of some sorts. Sandwiches and afternoon tea were always served every afternoon and between 5 and 7 you always got a little plate of beautiful canapes to accompany your drink!

The staff here were amazing and never once did we feel like bogun Aussies sitting there in their beautiful lounges... they were always so friendly and respecful and we were always greeted with a genuine smile and hello.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and if you can afford it, upgrade to the Valley Wing as it is so well worth it. We will definitely return as it really is a lovely slice of heaven!

Wow! The Valley wing is superb.
Initally we were booked into a garden wing room which to be honest wasn't really want we wanted. Its a resort style room(laminate wood floor, very small bathroom, cheap furniture etc) thats surrounded by vegetation. I asked to be moved into the valley wing which they did straight away and for the extra £50 a night was worth every penny (I was surprised that they still charged us as it was our honeymoon and they were not at all full!).
The room was massive, huge comfy bed, great pool view, luxury marble bathroom with separate shower/bath (even a TV next to the bath!) etc.
The breakfast was fantastic and M+ C Champagne was free in the evenings!!! Plenty of restaurants the Shang Palace being our favourite, albeit pricey. The Line was a popular choice if you like buffet food.
The swimming pool was open until 10pm which was perfect if you had been out sight seeing all day.
The staff were so helpful, everyone knew your name. Edward and Amin especially who gave us so many tips about getting around etc.
The location of the hotel was ideal for Orchard Road or the underground (clean, safe and cool) to get to other places.
Overall, one of the best hotels out there!

“Valley Wing Luxury”

This was my first stay in Singapore and for a little luxury at the end of our honeymoon, we thought we'd upgrade to the Valley Wing. I agree with most of the previous reviewers that the rooms are spacious and luxurious, with the best of everything. The staff are wonderful - friendly and courteous, the food was some of the best I have ever eaten (although I preferred the Valley WIng breakfast over 'The Line' - I am just not a big buffet fan) and Blu, whilst expensive, was a perfect ending to our four days. The bathroom was lovely with a big comfortable bath for 2 and a separate rainshower with lots of decadent products supplied. My stand out memory is our wake up call at 5.30am on our final day - not only was the wake up call right on time, literally 2 seconds later, 2 piping hot cups of coffee were delivered to our room. I have never experienced anything like that anywhere else!

This Shangri-La has the most extravagant breakfast menu I have encountered in any five star hotel. The variety and choice, from pastries to Thai and Japanese dishes, is absolutely bewildering.
During my last visit, I counted eleven different sections serving specialist dishes.Even if you don't stay there, just go for the breakfast !
