I stayed in this hotel for 9 days. The room was a bit small, but all I needed was a place to sleep, as I was in Singapore for work. It is a short walk from Orchard Road, and in a quiet neighborhood. I hate noisy hotels, as I am a light sleeper, and this one was fine.

Tha housekeeper had a problem counting towels and washcloths. A few days, I had no washcloths, and one day the towel was not replaced. But they were quick to provide them when asked.

The items in the hotel gift shop were not extravagant, but the prices were decent, and the young lady that works there is most pleasant, and eager to assist.

The hotel breakfast, while good, is rather expensive at 30 Singapore dollars. So I went to the Tanglin Mall (attached to the hotel) and purchased cereal, milk, and yogurt for most of my breakfasts, which I kept in the small fridge. A few mornings I walked around the corner to the McDonalds, also in the Tanglin Mall. A few dinners were at Spageddies, also in the mall. I love their pasta, and nice large salads, so I usually visit a Spageddies at least once during my Singapore trips.

One thing that always dissapoints is the hotel internet charges in Singapore. For an island that prides iteslf on being high tech, and internet friendly, 25+ Singapore dollars a day is outrageous. So I kept it down to one hour a day at $9.63 Singapore. Still a ripoff for something that should be free.

Taxis were abundant, and I never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes during the busiest times. I reserved a taxi for my 4:30 AM departure to the airport (extra fee), but that was not necessary, as there were at least 3 taxis waiting.

All in all, I will stay there again on my next visit in 4-6 months, unless the company chooses another hotel.

Stayed at the traders hotel in sinagpore for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon. Impressive hotel inside. but very slow checking people in. The front desk always has a queue even when there are 5 staff working. Rooms were adequate. Nice pool. Breakfast was S$70 (£30) for two continetal breakfasts..

The best thing about this hotel is it's location very close to a main shopping road and underground station.

the underground system is cheap clean efficient and goes around the whole island.

We've just returned from the Traders Hotel in Singapore, and were really happy with the hotel.
We contacted the hotel before we arrived and got helpful, prompt advice on queries that we had; and all of the staff that we encountered were very courteous.
I know that some people have commented on the size of the rooms, but it really depends on how much time you spend in the room - we were out and about each day, and while the room was pretty small, we were only using it to sleep and shower and it did its job.
Within a quick stroll to Orchard Road and the Botanic Gardens, the hotel was well located; and transport in Singapore is so good (from the MRT to taxis) that it didn't take long to get anywhere in the City.
Next time we visit Singapore, we'll stay in the Colonial district having done Orchard Road to death - but if we were planning another shopping holiday, I'd definitely consider Traders again.

This hotel is dreadful. It was built in the mid 1990’s and is now in desperate need of refurbishment. The rooms are very small, and the bathrooms minute, only one person can get in them at a time. The carpets in the hotel are not clean.
