My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons Singapore for 3 nights on a split visit – December 28th and January 5th and 6th. The lobby of the hotel is lovely and inviting. Our room was attractive and was very spacious, as was the bath. It wasn’t as beautiful as the rooms at the Four Seasons Bangkok, though – the generic, understated decor was more in line with the Four Seasons Sydney (without the amazing view).
Our package included the breakfast buffet at One-Ninety, which was fantastic, more selections than I could have imagined and very delicious. I also had a wonderfully relaxing massage at the spa on the third floor. When we had trouble scheduling (it was part of our package for the second two nights), we called the concierge and she arranged it almost immediately. (The spa initially said they were booked up for the entire length of our short stay, which was the only glitch we experienced).
What really made our stay was the service, as it always is at the Four Seasons. The staff addresses you by name from the first minute and is quick to offer assistance. Both times we arrived there was a hand-written note from the hotel manager waiting for us in the room, and – after an absence of a week – it seemed the staff remembered us, as from the moment we stepped out of the taxi on January 5th they all said ‘welcome back’. Whether this was true or whether they had been prompted in advance of our second arrival, it was impressive nonetheless. During the week we were away, they stored baggage for us, which was greatly appreciated.
Orchard Road shopping and dining is within walking distance, of course, and (this being Singapore!) everything else is a short drive away. Cabs were always plentiful. I would recommend the Four Seasons as being a great choice - a top hotel with top service.
