I wouldn't stay here again for a number of reasons. It's location is really bad, quite a way from anything interesting, and it's on a main road so very noisy. The rooms weren't too bad, a little small, but adequate. However the soundproofing between the rooms is terrible and we had to complain to the room next to us then to hotel security when they wouldn't keep quiet.
The room service and restaurants were very expensive particularly considering how much you pay at local restaurants. The staff weren't that friendly and we had to get our own taxis.
The worst part was the small pool which turned green while we were there. When we asked the staff about it they said it was supposed to be green as they were doing something to it... minutes later we saw a hotel employee sneak out and dump undiluted chlorine into the pool, right next to where people were swimming. We didn't swim after that.

OK, so my review is pretty late, but I am only using this site as I prepare for my next holiday. It has been such a blessing that I thought it best to share my experiences for the best of others.
I arrived in at the hotel at 4am on a Saturday morning after a bus trip from KL. Tiired after flying into KL from Tokyo, I was desperate for sleep.
I found the hotel staff very harsh and unsympothetic to my cause as my room wasn't available. The only option was an upgrade, which I would have to pay for. I tried to get some kind of leniancy (forgive spelling) from the receptionist, but without luck. Even a smile might have helped, but found them coming across as unhappy people, unwilling to bend in any way to be helpful, or at least understanding to my situation.
I took the upgrade. The room was spacious compared to the ones I had stayed in before, though basic in furnishings. As a regular 2 or 3 star traveller, I was happy with that, but not the bathroom, which had a puddle of water around the toilet and some mould around the shower. The batheroom really needed some work.
The location wasn't that great either. I guess maybe my travel agent had some deal with that hotel, as I expected it to be reasonably close to the shopping areas. Instead though, it was a 5 - 10 minute taxi ride to Orchis road shops.
I am sure one can do better than this out of the way hotel.

My wife and I stayed here overnight, courtesy of an airline, when our connecting flight was cancelled. Although I didn't pay I wasn't particularly impressed.

The rooms are large and spacious, but the decor is old and tired. Our room had a balcony overlooking the major dual carriage way that runs along outside the hotel. The sub-standard double glazing did nothing to keep the noise of passing cars out. If we hadn't have arrived late in the evening and were due to leave the following day I would have complained.

We ate in the Asian brassery, which was buffet style food. All that I can say is that the food was OK, but nothing special and indeed quite bland.

Another reviewer has noted the cost of the internet charges - simply crazy.

The staff were friendly and helpful, so no complaints there.

I am sure that we will go back to Singapore to explore it further. Would I consider paying to stay here - no chance. There is a rumour that the hotel is 5* but I am not sure on whose standard?!

Nice hotel but not in walking distance of orchard road. There is however a shuttle bus but you have book in advance to get on it. Rooms clean and spacious. Staff well presented and professional. My main problem was how expensive it was! $11.84 SGD dollars for 30 mins on the internet- what a ripoff! Compared to what i paid in australia later on $2 AUD for 30 mins, it was well overpriced!
Also, the hotel is right by a busy highway, so when sitting at the pool it is quite noisy. Didnt hear any noise from the room though.
Apart from that, the hotel is ok but just ok. You have to get taxis everywhere, unless you like a long walk.
