This hotel has a fantastic location. It is right on Clark Quay and from the hotel it is only a short 5min walk to some superb restaurants. The Novotel is also close to the China town and Fort Caning Hill which is fascinating place to stroll around. The hotel is right by the river and tours can be organised from the hotel although we did not use this service. By Taxi it is 20 mins if that to Orchard Road, the Esplanade and The Raffels Hotel. The service here was wonderful and the buffet breakfast was delicious. We were very impressed by the courteous and helpful staff. For those who need access it has ADSL connections. The rooms were clean and modern. Also the airport is approximately 30 mins away which is nice and handy, but that is arriving and departing in the early hours of the morning so perhaps this time could take longer at other hours. We thought this hotel was great value and will be returning.

The Novotel was nice for our family and seems to be a hotel that does cater for kids, but we were asked to pay for an early check-in (~S$140), when others on this site were allowed to check-in early without additional cost. I suppose it depends who you get on reception.
The buffet breakfast were nice and had variety each morning and décor was good if you like blue lights.
The location was OK, with a supermarket downstairs, Clark Quay around corner and Fort Canning Park opposite. However, it is a good 20 minute walk to Orchard Road.

Clean rooms nice bathrooms that have stand-alone showers in addition to bathtubs. There is a large pool, but it isn't very inviting. There is little shade on the pool deck. Some may like the hotel's location on Clarke Quay. It seemed like a center for expat life with many different types of cuisine. Clarke Quay itself is very walkable on both sides of the river. Staff was fairly accomodating, but I've received better service at other SIN hotels. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices, but again, I've had bettter at other SIN hotels.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May.
First of all we got a room with a broken aircon.(1014)
We changed to a room above(1114)
And everything seemed fine.
After the second night, I noticed that i had alot of bites on my arm and a few on my leg. I thought they were mosquito bites.
But after the third night I knew they were not. I suspected beg bugs but could not believe that the Novotel would have bed bugs.
I checked the bed and sheets after the room was cleaned, they seemed fine except for a few hairs (i assumed they were from me and my husband) - but from that, i knew they did not change the sheets daily)
Then i began to be paranoid and switched sides of the bed with my husband (who thus far was unaffected) I then covered my by body from head to toe when i slept. In the morning i had no additional bites,,,but my husband's arm was bitten all over!
So then i concluded it had to be bed bugs.
It was our check out day and we complained to the duty manager who did apologise and promise to get the room checked and cleaned for the bed bugs.
But it had ruined the end of our vacation and we will not stay here again!

(to be fair, aside from this, the staff were very friendly and clarke quay is amazing)
