We visited the Marina Mandarin for two nights in March 2008 on our way to Australia. After a long flight, we arrived at the Marina Mandarin and from the moment we arrived our whole experience could not have been better. Staff were fantastic with impecable service ranging from the concierge to the receptionist. They could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable and made our children feel very welcome. Facilities were equally impressive, with two matching connecting rooms(family room), which were well presented and clean with fantastic bathrooms.
Pool was beautiful with very helpful staff who ensured you enjoyed every minute of your time. Glass lifts were super quick and efficient. The atrium is amazing with the sounds of birds singing, which we loved. Breakfast was excellent with a beautiful area for dining outside. We cannot wait to stay there again.

We stayed for 4 nights in early April with our 3 year old daughter. The room was spacious and clean, but the hotel is not really suitable for families with young children. We found it too 'clinical' and in the very quiet atmosphere, our daughter's excited behaviour was frowned upon. Constantly felt that we had to make sure she was being a 'perfect child'. This hotel is OK if you are staying on business, and although a great location for sightseeing, not for young families. Disappointed as this was an expensive hotel

Request for a high floor room was ignored. Single glazed windows meant that we had unacceptable levels of traffic noise. Added to this was a really annoying water hammer from the plumbing, making sleep almost impossible. Room rate (GBP 150 per night) did not include breakfast. Carpet in room was covered in stains. Receptionist did not tell us about using the key card to operate the lift. Not a good experience. I am a regular visitor to Singapore and I've stayed in much better hotels - for less money.

one of the nicest places i've ever been to. the rooms are pretty big, there is wireless internet connection and the bathroom is a blast.

important: you don't wait long for the elevator and safe because you can only go up if you enter your room key card.

if you go there, you have to have breakfast there at least once. the buffet is just amazing! you could probably even eat enough to last for the whole day. :-)
there's many other places to eat in the hotel (chinese of course but also italian). there's a really nice pool area if you just want to take a day off.
staff is very friendly (but that's asian i guess)!

from the hotel, there is a direct connection to the mall nearby.

the hotel is in walking distance from the so called merlion and the opera house (which kinda resembles the one in sidney).
