The Furama is a perfectly adequate place to stay, although the decor is a little tired, it's just that there are better deals to be had in Singapore.

The concierge and bell-boys were extremely helpful and friendly, although the desk staff less so. If you are there on business, beware of inflated prices for simple admin - I was quoted $2 per page to print out a work document.

Other reviewers are correct, it's not particularly near anything, but then neither are a lot of other hotels and taxis are cheap and plentiful in Singapore.

I stayed 3 nights in Furama riverfront hotel.
I can't find any fault in this hotel.

Concierge was great. They were smiling all the time and always willing to help you.

Front desk services was excellent. and the room was spacious and clean.

There was complimentary bus services from hotel to Orchard Road area. ( you have to book through Concierge and limited service)

Also normal bus stop and SIA Hop on bus is a few steps from the hotel, take 5 minutes walk.

Taxi fare was cheap so you don't have to worry even when you go out at night.

My experience here was great. If I'm going back to Singapore, I'll definitely stay in this hotel.

All reviews are right, it is not near anything. Can walk to a service station for drinks and snacks. Taxis are very cheap so getting places was cheap and very easy.

Clean and very friendly staff. Great 'normal" massage near front desk. Also has another massage shop around near the pool. This place offers a adult style massage with a happy ending.

Good pool, nice bar (a little over prices). Food was ok, but only ate there once.

Recommend to stay for a cheap spot with good pool. Can't really walk anywhere, although I did walk to China Town, takes about 20 minutes.

We stayed in the Furama Riverfront for 4 nights in January 2008 as part of a Singapore Airline Stopover Holiday. They upgraded our room, which turned out to be large, functional, quiet and comfortable. The buffet breakfast (which cost extra) was expensive even with the 50% discount offered with the Singapore Stopover Holiday package—about $US18 after discount—and not all that good. They have in-room Ethernet, which was fast, but expensive. The major problem with this hotel is its location, a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants or anything of interest. The free Singapore Stopover Holiday bus was not helpful because from the Furama it takes about an hour to get to anything interesting. There are many comparably-priced hotels in Singapore that are more centrally located.
