We‘ve just returned from our 2 week trip to HK & Thailand. We stayed 3 nights at Walden Hotel and for the price we paid and what was included; the hotel wasn't as bad as the previous poster mentioned. We were 3 adults and paid for an extra cot.
I agree with the PP that there was barely any room to walk-around the room, but this is HK! It’s very similar to NYC, Paris and London. You have to pay for the extra space and for $149CAD/night (taxes and fees included), it's not bad for what you get.
Everything was very clean and like many hotels they provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. I was really surprised that they also provided q-tips, hair combs, toothbrush, and cotton balls. And we didn't even have to request them! Everyday they would re-stock the toiletries.
The only thing we had to complain about was that the extra cot was VERY hard and uncomfortable. They gave my sister a down-filled comforter and she used it as extra padding and it worked out fine.
The view from the hotel wasn’t great either…it looked out to an old and dirty apartment building.
Having said this, the hotel is conveniently located (5-10mins walk to Time Square and 5mins walk to the Causeway Bay MTR station) and it was clean.
It’s also easy to catch the Cityflyer bus (A11) from the HK airport to the hotel. The ride is approximately 50mins – 1hr and you get off bus stop #12 (Tonnochy Road, 325 Hennessy Road). It costs $40HK/person and you’re only a few feet from the hotel (get off the bus and turn right and walk a few feet and the hotel should be on your left).
Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for people on a budget where location is important.
