This was the cheapest and best hotel I could find online, its not 5 star but its nicer than I expected and the location is fantastic, right across the street is Times Square and the MTR train station which will take you everywhere if you want to travel further afield. We were happy with the breakfast, its a super fast service and they'll even let you pre-order and pick up your breakfast if you need to. We stuck with the bacon & eggs each morning of our 3 night stay, this included toast, coffee and orange juice - all included in the room price we paid. Our only complaint was the flooding bathroom but I'm sure they'd have fixed that now - we told them about it the day we checked out. Front desk staff were pleasant - and yes they have free internet access, an internet roonm on the same floor as reception which is accessed by your room card - and we travelled through 8 countries on this trip and this was the ONLY hotel that offered free internet - really handy when you want to email friends & family to let them know you've arrived safely etc. No complaints here :)

I was looking for an economical hotel but wanted a good location. I read a couple review about this hotel and then decided to give it a go. I didn't have a high expectation for this hotel but once we arrived, we know that we would love the location.
Breakfast was better than we expected as there were 4 set menu to choose from and available for take away.
However, only 2 elevators are available to take guests to the hotel room, the other 2 or 3 elevators were used to get an entry for restaurants etc.
Overall it is still a good hotel to choose if you have a small budget and still want a good location.

I have been going to HK for more than 15 years, and more than 3 or 4 times a year. So safe to say that HK is like a 2nd home to me. Over the years, I've seen HK hotel prices go through the roof, so if you're on a budget (which in HK means around US$100 to US$150) but want to stay in the more relevant areas, you'd have to stay at the older hotels. Not anymore!

The Express usually goes for HK$830 to less than HK$1000, if you book early enough through their web site. It has all I need for a HK hotel, nice clean decent sized room, clean bathroom, good location and free internet. True, breakfast is tiny, but hey, you're in HK, the city of food. There is a Pizza Hut in the hotel, and the Entrecote steak restaurant is not bad too. Of course, at the Times Square Mall, you got the food court, plus some more food choices at the basement, as well as 4 stories of dining at the top of the mall.

I stay here most of the time when I travel alone, reserving stays at the Peninsula or Sheraton or Conrad or Island Shangri-La when I'm with my wife. It's the best value to come out of HK in a long time.

I've stayed here a few times now...Usually when other HK hotels are priced high for 'trade fair season', which was the case when I was just there...This trip I was there for 3 nights.

The room is small...But no smaller than other Hong Kong hotels I've stayed at including the Excelsior, the Renaissance Harbor View, the Renaissance Kowloon, Sheraton Kowloon, Grand Hyatt, etc. I've stayed at dozens of hotels in HK...This place is surely the lowest scale of service of them all, BUT:

Rooms are clean.

Bed is comfortable and lots of pillows.

Location is GREAT, being right next to Times Square and a Causeway Bay MTR stop.

Free internet access (runs USD$15-$20 a day at the other properties mentioned above).

Free breakfast (okay, the breakfast is pretty weak--tastes okay, but small portions--I usually end up getting a Egg McMuffin from McD's across Times Square).

You get what you pay for here...It is an 'Express' afterall, but I consider this to be one of the better values in HKG. You don't have a concierge, nor a fancy restaurant in the hotel (the hotel restaurant isn't great, but in 5 minutes, you're at the Food Court at Times Square with a dozen places to choose from). There's also a Pizza Hut in the hotel (accessible by separate elevators)--hotel guests get a 10% discount if they show their room key...Nice if you're traveling solo and don't want to 'go out' after working a full day as I often do--I just grab a pie and go up to the room!

I'll stay here again, I'm sure, as long as it stays clean and comfortable!
