Stayed at the Hong Kong Sheraton for 4 nights in August 2007.
It was excellent location to shopping, waterfront and Nathan street where all the shopping is. Told them it was my first time in Hong Kong and they upgraded me to a harbour view room on the 12th floor. OMG how incredible the view was. The rooms were a good size, very comfortable.
The location is excellent, right in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui and the subway station. 5 Minute walk to Star Ferry to bring you to Hong Kong Island. Harbor City is only a few blocks away. Take the subway to Mong Kok and exit E to the Ladies Market which opens around noon/1pm. Pickup some great knockoffs of handbags, Monte Blancs and every designer watch you can image. Some VERY good deals can be had. Lots of little shopping arcades and nooks and crannies just outside the hotel doors.
Across from waterfront and high end shopping. Watch the lightshow every night at 8pm and the fireworks on Saturdays from the bar on the top floor of the hotel, Morton's restaurant dining window or on the Avenue of the Stars across the street on the waterfront where the Intercontinental is. A Starbucks can be found a block over but beware, it opens around 8am as do most other coffee shops. Stores opens 10 to 2ish as well.
If you don't look like a local and more of a tourist or businessman, everywhere you walk up Nathan street you'll be asked if you want to buy a suit or watch. It gets to a point where you have to yell at them (mostly Indians) to leave you alone.
The entire staff is attentive and ensures you have everything you need. The gym facilities were good for a hotel. Had a deep tissue massage at the spa for about $85 and it was pretty decent also. The pool is small but good, is located on the roof so lots of privacy with little nooks and locations you can hide out. 3 hot tubs and great view of the skyline. In case you need a good American steak, Morton's is on the 4th floor and is always a sure thing for steaks. My personal ambition is to eat at every Morton's around the world, and this brings it to about 29 so far.
