First impressions are good, but if you take a closer look you might not be so happy. I have stayed here almost weekly for the last six months. This hotel is glamorous, with well appointed (if small) rooms, stylish bathrooms and hi-tech gadgets. The staff are efficient, the spa, health club and pool are well appointed and the location is great. However the bathtub in most rooms I have stayed has black mould around it from the water which does not drain away, and often wets the floor making it a slip hazard. The room attendants start cleaning from 6.30am, so expect to be woken early to the clanging of metal rubbish bins on marble bathroom floors, and the slamming of doors. Especially if you are in rooms --05 to --14 which are near the service area. The beds are extremely firm and the pillows very soft, so call for a feather pad to be placed over the mattress if you don't want to wake up sore. Several times the TV remote, the TV itself of the hi-tech telephone have broken and had to be changed. You can get a bigger and better room for the same money!

“Fantastic for families”

We are on a 6 month round world tour with two small children (4 and 2) We took a Langham suite with access to CLUB L and this is one of the best hotels we've stayed at. The service was impeccible, the concierge answered all our questions. Club was definitely worth having. Food at the PLACE was brilliant. Recommend the buffet. Chef provides great childrens meals (recommendthe baby shepherds pie ) Suite was quite small - this is typical for HK. When we talked to the concierge he recommended the Resident suite for families with an extra room if you have larger children because it has a kitchennette. Right on top of the MTR which means everything is a short ride away. Main shopping areas are right here. Swimming pool is fab with excellent view (42nd floor) and the spa and gym are 6* really amazing. Unless you really want HK Island this place is impossible to beat for value for money. Enjoy

“The people make the difference”

If you expect people in HK to speak English fluently, I think you would be disappointed that most people do not speak the language, or at least pretend that they do not know. If not for the hotel staff in providing me with the utmost detail of what I needed to know, I would have had difficulty navigating through the streets of HK. I was especially thankful of Stephen Poon, the assistant manager on duty the evening of my arrival. Without his willingness to help my wife and I, our honeymoon through HK would not have been as good. The staff at the Langham will take the extra effort to make your time worthwhile.

The facility itself is clean and neatly organized. The rooms might not be big, but they are made for the techie that I am. If you have not checked out the bathrooms, check out other people's photos. Yes they are transparent.

The hotel sits in a pretty interesting area of the city. If you walk out to the Eastern exit, you will encounter the various shopping districts of Hong Kong from the ladies market to the electronics mecca of HK. To the Western side you can find the local street market where they sell anything from live chicken and seafood to the strangest looking so called food you can ever find anywhere.

In all, a good place to stay. BTW, we ordered the pickup and dropoff service to the airport provided by the hotel (at a cost of course), and was happy with the service even if it was not cheap. It was convenient to have someone take you from door to door without much hassle.

“great hotel one of the best”

Just back from the langhamplace hotel what a great place to stay we thouroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay here, the staff here cant help you enough and go out of there way to make you feel comfortable and have an enjoyable holiday cant speak highly enough about them. The hotel itself is amazing artwork everywhere on all walls and in every room there is something for everyone to feast there eyes on. The rooms are not big at least ours wasnt we stayed in the lowest room category but what you dont get in size is more than made up for in comfort and conveniance with big plasma tvs,DVD player and a phone system that is like your own information library you can get everything from exchange rates to weather forecasts to airport timetables it is something else believe me. The bathroom is spacious and has a bath and shower with great water pressure very clean and all the usual complimentary items thrown in and more, the bed and pillows were very very comfortable a great nights sleep. We were so glad we stayed in Mongkok as it is a great area and only a short train ride to anywhere. The hotel is linked to a shopping mall that is massive itself and the surrounding area is packed with all sorts of shopping. Please try some egg tarts cooked fresh everymorning by the locals they are to die for. We highly highly recommend this hotel it is the best i have stayed in
Just one thing to note phone calls from the hotel to overseas are very expensive cost me around 25 aust dollars for 5 mins went out and bought a sim card the next day made at least 10 long calls to australia and still didnt run out of credit all for around $10 aussie dollars!!!!!

“Better than any Ritz Carlton... Hands Down!!!!”

Great concierge service, great customer service, great dining, too!!! Gorgeous rooms, fantastic views, this was by far one of the best hotels we've ever visited! We had a minor mishap (one of our two rooms was unavailable till the evening because of a cruiseship layover). We were a bit upset after due to our extensive traveling, but after we discussed it with the front desk, they handled it very very well. We were compensated fairly and professionally. The following day they delivered wine and treats to both rooms AND included a handwritten letter from their manager! Very classy service!

The breakfast buffet is not to be missed, and catered to every palate---- from American, English, Middle Eastern, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine selections. It almost reminded me of a more sophisticated Disney resort.

Rooms were a bit small, but the exquisite decor and excellent design never let us feel cramped or congested. The location was perfect and so close to some fantastic restaurants. We will be sure to book here again the next time we stop over Hong Kong. It excels in everything you would look for in a hotel---- location, comfort, service... and surpasses many 5 star hotels in every aspect!
