I've been for 5 days in Bishop Lei. Best location in HK central, between Soho and Midlevels just a few steps aside from the escalator (Exit Mosque street and turn left). Small rooms (compared to European standards). Great view. Can recommend hotel.

Business serviceI was pretty nervous before arriving at this hotel, I saw such widely varying reviews. Since it is very inexpensive for the area, I booked a "Deluxe Harbor View Suite"and requested a corner room. WOW!!!!! yes it is rather small, but the floor to ceiling windows in the sitting area and bedroom look out on the most incredibly beautiful perfect Hong Kong view. I got room 1309. SO AMAZING!!
Free wireless internet, free breakfast. Room service is basic but they showed up within 5 minutes.
The hotel area is very ritzy and so interesting with the walkways, hillside streets, high rises, escalators very close to go down to SoHo or Lan Kwai Fong-- great great location.
I looked forward to waking up with that view, and also looked forward to coming back "home" at night to just sit in bed and gaze out at the lights of hong kong.
We loved the Bishop Lei. It was a cool hotel with nice inclusive breakfast and good facilities. The extra touches like evening turn down and spotless room cleaning were excellent.
We booked a suite, mindful of the tight space in HK and were not disappointed - it was great. Our friend had a harbour view suite and his bedroom had a 270 degree glass wall overlooking the sweep of the habour - amazing.
All the staff were frendly and helpful. True you won't get lots of space in HK but when you see how densely packed the island is, you won't be surprised! It has a great location just off the Mosque St exit of the mid levels escalator, and with cabs plentiful and cheap (under £2/$4 US to Star Ferry / Central) it's simple to get around. Not near the MTR (rail) however, but cabs were great.
The escalator ferried us safely home from Soho and Lan Kwai Fong after a few beers and we enjoyed another lovely stay in beautiful Hong Kong - thank you all!

ServiceThe hotel is not very, very central but location is quite good, very close to the automatic stairs and 5 minutes to good restaurants.
I think the hotel could be not very good if you get a normal room , ver, very small, but if you get a suite it will be a fantastic experience.
The price of a suite is about a third of a room in another hotel and the view is amazing ( we stayed in floor 21st and the room is in a hill )
I will be stay here again, for sure

ServiceThis is my second review of the Bishop Lei, stayed here for a second time in April 2006 for 4 weeks and still maintain this has got to be one of the best value hotels on the island.
could not fault the service, room always serviced when we returned, bed turned down at night, fresh towels. Great pool (just the right temp of 26) with great views. All staff were polite and helpfull.
As for the rooms they are small but this is a HK issue not solely a Bishop Lei thing.
It is also understandable when you see the cost of apartments in this part of the city.
