“Happy at Harbour Plaza”

This is a good value hotel with stunning harbour views from the lobby.
Rooms are large for Hong Kong and tastefully decorated.
The hotel loses out on full marks however as our Court View room didn't have a bath which after a long haul flight I was looking forward to. It did have a massive and powerful shower.
Apart from this the Harbour Plaza was excellent. Staff were friendly, service was good and the courtesy bus into Kowloon centre was a bonus. There are plenty of restaurants but they were pricey. I'd recommend this hotel for families, couples and people who like good quality accommodation but without the price tag of other more famous five-star hotels.

Spent three nights in this hotel from March 7th to 10th and was most impressed. From the greeting at the front door to the speedy check-in service and the lovely room I could not have asked for more. I booked a harbour view room that had a huge window facing the harbour which is right next to the hotel. The room is of good size with a lovely bathroom and the beds were very soft for Hong Kong. Room included a pot to boil water for either tea or coffee which were complimentry in the room. The bathrooms include everything you need in case you forgot something---from combs to razors to toothbrushs and robes and slippers. All the hotel personnel speak perfect English and are eager to assist you with any problem or request you might have. The rooftop pool is great even though we didn't have a chance to use it because the weather was a bit chilly but the views from there were outstanding. The hotel is alittle off the beaten path in a quiet neighborhood which was nice. We found a lovely coffee shop a block from the hotel with great coffee and pastries and free computers to use if you bought something to drink. The hotel runs a free shuttle every half hour to downtown Kowloon for shopping or for getting on the subway system. A ferry pier is a three minute walk from the hotel to catch the ferry across the harbour to Hong kong for about .40 cents USA. They also have shuttle busses that stop there and take you to the Airport Express train for free. We paid about $130 American per night for the harbour view room through Asia Rooms, non harbour view rooms would be less expensive. If you want a great hotel to stay in that you will not be disappointed in you can't go wrong with the Harbour Plaza Hong Kong. Please do not confuse it with the other Harbour View hotels like the Metropolis (sp) which are not as nice.

“Happy that we booked the Harbour Plaza”

Harbour Plaza Hong Kong

As Hong Kong was our last stop after three hectic weeks in Asia we were looking for a Hotel that would provide us with a bit of peace and quiet, a touch of luxury, a great view of the Harbour and easy access to the rest of Hong Kong if needed.

Once again we trusted the Trip Advisor reviews and we were not let down. After some negotiations with the very helpful staff at the Hotel (Twiggy), we locked in a great deal which made our stay even more enjoyable.

This is a great hotel that provides guests with top views of the Harbour, high quality food and service from the Promenade buffet restaurant that also has the best drink deal in Hong Kong, HK$65, for all the imported beer, wine and soft drinks you can drink. After I had been paying double that for one glass of wine in other hotels this was a bonus.

As previous reviewers have stated its location at Hung Hom is not a problem as it is only a 4 minute walk to the ferry that goes to Central or Wan Chai plus they have a free hotel bus that will take you to main shopping areas around Nathan Road and bring you back.

After the hard beds of China the soft and comfortable beds and pillows at Harbour Plaza were appreciated.

Unfortunately the weather was not warm enough for us to enjoy the swimming pool facilities which are located on the roof and provide a wonderful view of Hong Kong.

Give the Harbour Plaza a try, you won't be disappointed.

“Great Place to Relax & Recharge”

Harbour Plaza Hong Kong

The tail end of a 2 month trip throughout SE Asia found us with 4 nights in HK so as frequent Tripadvisor users we factored in the previous reviews and chose the Harbour Plaza. We booked using an online site and got a great rate for HK!

We were somewhat trepidatious of the locale but the moment we pulled up the entrance driveway, were greeted by the Indian Doorman and witnessed the incredible harbour view through the wall of glass we knew we were in the right place. Our check in was smooth (thanks Queenie!) and our side harbourview room was just what we needed.

Our standard room was very large(especially by HK standards)and in perfect condition. The king bed was so comfortable that we routinely slept in quite late.

The rooftop pool and fitness center are first rate(what a view!)and the twice an hour free shuttle got us right downtown onto Nathan road in just a few minutes.

Unfortunately the restaurants, minibar and business center are very pricey. A USD$5 can of coke or USD$10 bottle of water is simply unreasonable as is the Internet access at USD$6 for 15 mins. Luckily you just have to step outside into the Whampoa Gardens neighborhood where you can eat drink and surf quite affordably.

Great housekeeping, incredible staff and fabulous service make this a wonderful hotel and we will undoubtedly consider it again on our next trip to Hong Kong.

“Good Overall Experience”

Harbour Plaza Hong Kong

We spent 5 nights at the end of January with a harbor view room.

Upon checkin the hotel wanted a cash deposit (we try to not use credit cards) and was willing to accept a smaller than normal USD deposit until we could get HKD the next day. Then for the next 3 days the hotel could not decide if they wanted the larger HKD deposit or not. It was a bit frustrating but Stanley the manager finally took care of things and gave us credit for one day of Internet use, saving us $150 HKD.

The breakfast buffet is good but expensive ($110 HKD). Instead, walk down the road for 5 minutes to Wampoa mall. It looks like a big ocean liner dropped in the middle of the city. They have a good food court with lots of selections. There are also reasonably prices eateries in the area of Wampoa and a 7-11 store for beer and wine and snacks.

The housekeeping staff did not keep the room as clean as you would expect and the maintenance staff could have spent an hour in the room taking care of small items.

The TV channel selection was mediocre, but the view from the room was really nice. And the room was decent sized as well.
