We stayed at the Excelsior in Hong Kong for 7 nights at the end of January.

We arrived at 8.30pm, the reception was not busy and we checked in our room without any problem. The room was a harbor view room, very spacious and with all the usual amenities. The bathroom was small compare to the size of the room. The furniture of the room needs to be updated; however it’s not a major problem. As it was my birthday, we received a complimentary bottle of champagne from the hotel, this was a nice welcome to this amazing city.

The breakfast was the best I ever had, and I travel a lot and stayed at numerous hotels but never had such an amazing breakfast. There is everything available, from dim sum to roast meat to croissants and waffles.

The gym facilities are great especially the steaming room and the Sauna.

The location of the hotel is very convenient; you have everything near you and many places to eat at very good prices. Hong Kong is a great place and the Excelsior Hotel is definitely a very good Hotel to stay at to explore Hong Kong.

Phenomenal rooms, food, staff & courtesy!

I basically LIVED in this hotel for several consecutive weeks on end back in 1995-1996 and again in the Fall Season of 2000. My minimum average stay was four weeks and my longest stay was six weeks straight. The food was unbelievable! I have traveled extensively throughout the world in some of the finest hotels … but the Excelsior buffet has them all beat.

The rooms were very comfortable and the hotel was generally quiet which was good for conducting business. The Business Center was always available for use and I utilized the Business Center as a satellite office to conduct many meetings.

The night life was also quite exceptional in the disco/lounge located at the top of the Excelsior.

The location on Causeway Bay was handy to everything and the views of Victoria Harbor are wonderful.

Most of all, for business persons away from family, the staff is incredibly accommodating and polite.

I loved the Excelsior and I look forward to bring my family back for a visit at Christmas time 2006.

The hotel is very busy constantly, but is well located in a great shopping area.Rooms are ok but get the harbour view its worth it.Breakfast buffet is outstanding for choice.Lots of easy transport on the doorstep,dirt cheap taxis,trams and metro.Dickens bar is great,very English but cheap ?? No way !! Watch prices in electronic shops also - not always the bargains they potray.A mad place but enjoyed it thoroughly.

Stayed for 6 nights on a business trip - judging from some of the reviews here I was slightly apprehensive. Shouldn't have been. For me hotels need 3 things - great location, comfortable beds, powerful showers. Big tick in all 3 columns. Sure, it's not plush, but the views from my harbour facing room were superb. And when I complained about a vast family in the room next door making a racket, I was re-roomed immediately. Not only that, they apologised for it on reception when I checked out 2 days later, and a letter from the management was waiting for me on return home, again aplogising and hoping I wasn't overly inconvenienced.

And yep the Dickens Bar is a boon for homesick Brits!
