Very nice hotel in a great location right next to the avenue of stars.
Rooms small but perfectly formed and very clean. Pool area OK, but the Patio lunch buffet is brilliant value for money.
Staff were curtious and very helpful. Recommended

ServiceMy husband & I stayed at The Renaissance Hotel on the first leg of a tour on 10/11 June.
It was a very convenient hotel for the Star Ferry & and the harbour foreshore.
Our stay was comfortable & we particularly enjoy the Lobby Bar at the top of the escalator which provided a decent sized glass of wine & nice nibbles & snacks. It was here we were introduced to the high standard of Asian singers in entertainment venues. The girl singer with the combo was a delight to listen to, relaxing for the weary traveller.
I would certainly recommend the Renaissance for its location for shopping, eating & sight-seeing.

ServiceStayed here after a bad experience across the harbour at another Renaissance. This hotel was less expensive on the Club level thanthe other hotel. The room was very nice and the service excellent. The location was convenient to the ferry, MTR (subway), and to a lot of shopping. The only drawback was the view to the harbour -- it was partially obstructed by an apartment building.

Business serviceI just returned from a 14 day trip to Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. My travel agent booked me for 4 days at the Renaissance Kowloon from May 28 - June 2. It was an excellent stay.
Positives: Immaculately clean! The size of the room was larger than that of the Intercontinental, which is just next door. The amenities in the large marble bathroom was very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was superb.......the choices are many and the taste was the best I had thorughout my trip to Asia. The service was also excellent throughout the hotel. I was impressed with the lightening speed that they responded to requests.
Negatives: No free internet service! Initially the beds felt hard, but I grew accustomed to it by the second night. The $7 charge each time I used a calling card was a bit disheartening. The low ceilings also threw me for a loop the first night. By the 2nd day, it was not an issue. Not sure if all of the rooms have such low ceilings. We had an awkwardly shaped room, somewhat on a slant. No harbor view at this hotel.
All in all.......I think I had a great stay the Renaissance Kowloon. Hong Kong was my fist stop on the tour and I again returned to Honk Kong at the end of my tour for 2 additional days but opted to stay at the Intercontinental because of the harbor view. What a disappointment the Intercontinental was........check for that review later this week.

Business serviceOf the three Marriott properties I recently stayed at in Hong Kong, I would recommend the Renaissance Kowloon as the best for tourists and business travelers on a modest budget. It's a very nicely appointed hotel located at the Kowloon waterfront and adjacent to the New World Center for shopping. Moreover, if you're like me, you'll appreciate the open feel of the area versus the skyscraper canyons of Hong Kong. You can enjoy the nightly laser/music show among the Hong Kong skyline at 8 PM from the Avenue of Stars along Victoria Harbor. Couple that with the street markets and shops to explore in Kowloon, and you have some great photo opportunites at your doorstep.
I cannot say enough kind things about the staff, who were all very helpful getting me oriented for seeing Hong Kong and a trip to Shenzhen. The concierges on the executive floor were more than generous with information.
I had two rooms, one a "mini-suite" upgrade, which was a huge, luxurious room with king sized bed, show and bathtub, and even a separate entertainment center in front of the couch with TV, DVD, and radio. The second room was somewhat smaller but still the size Americans may be used to in other upscale hotels, and the appointments were excellent.
The lounge at lobby level is comfy enough with a good bartender, although the evening musical entertainment was a bit kitschy. One evening I tried the Patio Coffee Shop "international buffet" and found the food to be marginal, not to mention very expensive. Also, it was noisy with many children running and screaming. Give it a pass. However, I do suggest the Panorama Seafood and Grill restaurant in the hotel as well as the nearby Felix restaurant.
Location here is a big plus. Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stations are a few steps away, and the Airport Express transfer bus (route K4) to the hotel is available daily 06:18 - 23:10. The East Tsim Sha Tsui station is the southern terminus for the train to Shenzhen, China. It costs less that HK$40 for a one-way ticket to Lo Wu/Luo Hu border crossing. (Note: US citizens will have to purchase their China visas before leaving home. Most other nationalities can obtain a visa upon arrival.) Of course, the MTR makes it easy and quick to travel into Hong Kong, or you can visit the famous horse track near Fotan.
