I stayed at the Norfolk for the second time in March and it felt like I was coming home. There is something about the service, the cosy atmosphere, the frogs singing at dusk in the pond, breakfast outside near the courtyard, dinner on the front patio... I travel a lot, and the Norfolk really stands out. Fantastic place.

Stayed at the Norfolk the night before a week Safari. Room was clean and above average size. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. For Kenya a 5 star hotel. In USA this hotel is comparable to a nice Holiday Inn.

i stayed here before & after my week of safaris.when i retrieved my luggage dead tired & ready for bed,was astonished to see it was wired shut & couldn't open it & had to wait 45 min for someone to open it.they should tell u when u pick it up,that it is locked. otherwise, had a lovely time,staff was helpful but seemed to lack Kenyan shillings to cash my travellers checks all the time so had to take taxis to the bank. res't was just OK. room was large & clean & view was lovely of the gardens. oldest hotel in Nairobi.

The reason to stay at this hotel is to be engulfed by the history of Kenya. The hotel is a little worn, but not in a gaudy seventies way. Instead, it has charm and warmth. The food was very good in the causual restaurant at the hotel and the staff was excellent. We had breakfast out on the terrace, which was also very good. The rooms were tired but surprisingly good considering you are in the middle of Nairobi probably enjoying amenities unknown by most people in the country. In truth, if the rooms were simply refurbished, this hotel would probably rate much higher.

We also used A&K who I can't say enough nice things about. We researched the various agencies extensively and were trilled with the service we received from A&K. They take wonderful care of you and ensure you will have a memorable vacation.
