We must admit to having second thoughts after booking this holiday about going to Abu Dhabi but we need not have worried. This is a lovely modern, clean city and appeard to be safe as well. The Hilton is superbly situated on the Corniche, a little way out of the city centre. The service was excellent, the rooms lovely and clean, whilst we had a sea view we did not hear any traffic noise apart from the odd horn or two. The terrace restaurant where you take breakfast and your evening meal (if on half board) was very nice and the selection and quality of food excellent. We thought the drinks were not over priced, a bottle of house wine was approx £10.00. The only criticism here is that if you are on half board you can only eat in this restaurant, some hotels we have stayed in previously will give you a credit note towards their a la carte restaurants but not at this hotel. The beach club across the road, which you reach through a well lit and clean underpass was exceptional. The swimming pools were warm and there was no problem getting in the water even though it was February. All the facilities provided were to a very high standard and the staff were very attentive.

The Marina Mall was a walkable distance and the choice of shops here was excellent.

Overall we had a lovely winter holiay in the sun. We would recommend this hotel and Abu Dhabi if you are looking for a week in the sun in the winter. We understood from speaking to people that February is one of the best times of the year to visit the UAE.

We will definitely be returning.

Well it was a mixed feeling. I stayed there for a conference. I had the smallest room Single bed and payed 1030+ Dh. My friend had a double suite for 575 Dh. So wach ou what what you pay. They even told me they could have wanted to charge more if they thought of it. I asked how this happened and he really showed he didn't care
So my faith is lost in the duty manager. The rest was ok, nice bar around the corner although the guy played the guitar great but the girl should find a non vocal job.

Booked hotel and flights via LetsGo 2 for the first time,very efficient.
Stayed on the executive floor for little extra cost,well worth it.Gives you a lounge to have breakfast ,tea/coffee,soft drinks all day,free internet access inc wi-fi. Cakes/sandwiches in the afternoon and Canapes in the evening.Rooms are the same but the service and quality are excellent.We had a Garden view room (you can still see the sea!)much better as i would think the main sea facing rooms are noisy in view of the road.
The hotel is well located next to the Emirates Palace,and the Marina Mall shopping centre(this is enormous and fantastic place to shop)
We ate in Hemingways and MICE Italian in the hotel,both excellent.
The Hiltonia Leisure facilities which are part of the hotel were excellent,we were obviously at the hotel when it was not busy(from other peoples comments)
We flew with Etihad direct, superb Airline.

Thoroughly recommend

I've just come back from a week at the Hilton with two friends. We paid a bit extra for the Executive rooms and it was well worth it. Cocktails and canapes are served from 6 00pm in the lounge and we more than covered the extra cost for the rooms! Our own Executive breakfast room and check in also make things more relaxed.
The restaurants were great and reasonably priced for a 4/5 star hotel. The Jazz Club was our favourite, the food was excellent and so was the atmosphere and jazz. Don't be put off by the term jazz, it's not Acker Bilk or "nice" from the Fast Show. Think more Commodores/South America/jazz versions of popular songs.
The beach was a bit stoney and the water got very deep very close in. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas, even on Friday, when it's the weekend. The walkway under the Corniche to the beach is no problem, it's clean, safe and only a short walk.
The Marina Mall is opposite the hotel, along the causeway, and with 165 outlets, including Ikea and a massive Carrefour, it's a pleasant way to spend a few hours. Prices are generally cheaper than the UK.
The staff were very helpful and the hotel seemed well run.
I would definately recommend this hotel for a relaxing break, it's got everything you need.
