Hotel was OK, but older and starting to show its age. Furnishings a bit dated. Chinese restaurant was quite good. Location is a bit away from center of town. For the price, there are better options.

Hotels are SO expensive in the Gulf, these days but this a good find. Completely nondescript, tidy and comfortable. For some reason, the hallway A/C wasn't working very well on my last visit. Most staff are helpful, especially the very energetic young Business Center manager, and a charming Chinese server in the French restaurant. This place is the reason I come back. I can't imagine a less-than $100 rate AND an excellent French bistro at the same hotel. The chinese restaurant is very good as well. Good location - with a movie theatre,pharmacy, Burger King, and Marks and Spencer nearby, along with a ubiquitious shopping mall! For what you save by staying here, you can spend on your Mall craw l(s)!

The main problem we had was parking the car - this hotel is right in the centre of town and only has a few dedicated spaces at the front, all taken when we arrived. So we had to battle with the very full public car park at the side of the building, complete with some very eccentric double parking and lots of hooting. Once inside the lobby was spacious and cool, but the front desk were rather slow to check us in. We had specifically asked for two adjoining rooms for our party of four, but had been given corner rooms at opposite ends of a corridor. The rooms were a reasonable size though not palatial, well maintained and clean, and the beds were very comfortable.

As we were tired we chose the Friday buffet in the main restaurant - this was well stocked and good quality and service was excellent as we were the only guests eating. Breakfast was eaten downstairs in a basement room, and was a well stocked buffet.

We particularly enjoyed the pool which is outside on a rooftop; the times we swam it was shaded by surrounding buildings so best to check before you dive in if you like to swim in the sun.

OK hotel when it is normal rate, but unfortunately for us there was a big exhibition on the weekend we visited so they had hiked the prices up in all the hotels including this one.

i stayed in this hotel for about a week during my business trip. Very neat and clean, service and hospitality is good. good location in the city and very nominal rate.
