Stayed in this hotel more than one time. it's not that bad. Rooms are big, bed ok, also the bathroom. But if you want to go back to the seventees, than this is your place to be.
There is a small swimmingpool, and a few chairs. Staff is helpfull and polite. there is a service a the pool, with a small menu.
Fitness is ok. Only the fitnessroom in not wel airconditioned. For a short business-stay it is ok.
Restaurants are in the neighbourhood, also the bazar. Almost 5 minutes walking.
Staff at the reception is nice and helpfull. Please check your bill, cause sometimes they make mistakes. Can happen to everyone.....

“Good hotel, top service”

I recently spent 3 nights at this hotel on a business trip. I was upgraded (as per the level of my Ambassador card) to a great suite with a lounge, bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Decor was perhaps a little OTT, but it didn't really bother me.

Staff service was excellent at all levels, from reception to the bar to the pool. Pool area was nice for a city centre hotel, but not great if you were there on holiday.

Hotel location is great. If you can stand the heat many banks have HQ's within walking distance, and i enjoyed wandering around the souk at night soaking up the atmosphere.

Bad points:- I'm not sure the food quality is that great. The snacks I had by the pool were ok but the breakfast I had as room service was awful.

Also, like the previous reviewer, I had a lot of trouble connecting to the internet in my room. My advice is to ignore the desk top device, and hunt around for another lead. I found one that worked perfectly (but it took my about 60 mins to figure this out).

Beware of the taxis too. None of the ones i tried would use the meter, and i paid BD 10 for a trip from the airport, when it was only BD 4 on the way back.

Overall I had a pretty good stay here, and i wouldn't hesitate to use the hotel again.

“Pleasant hotel but needs improvement”

The Regency InterContinental Bahrain

I recently stayed at the Regency intercontinental for 3 nights on business, and overall enjoyed a pleasant stay. The hotel provides a some good facilities and accommodation.

I encountered problems getting my laptop connected to the internet from my room which was inconvenient, and there was no wifi in the room. Wifi was only available in the main lounge which you had to pay extra for. I ordered room service as well and generally the options were limited and while the food was ok, it was certainly not what i expect from a 5 star hotel. My bed was comfortable and the bathroom, while not being the most attractive or modern in design, was fine. Service, however, was excellent and the staff have clearly been well trained and were polite and courteous throughout. The location of the hotel is a plus being conveniently located in the city centre.

Official delegation to Bahrain. A luxury hotel with good facilities. Location however is only for business. Nothing to do in the city.

“Good Location for Business”

The hotel is ideally located, right in the centre of the main business districts.
The lobby is very grand and spacious, though a few more tables and chairs would be useful as many people were waiting there to meet people in the mornings.
Breakfast was fine, though nothing special. I was surprised on the first morning that the waiters managed to pour more tea into my saucer than the cup (seriously - it was full!) and both times they just left it instead of replacing the saucer. Then, half way through my breakfast I was asked to change tables as they needed to push two together to seat a group of eight. Maybe they were new to the job and poorly trained as the service the second day was as you would expect in a five star hotel.
My room was very comfortable and the bed was huge (with a choice of pillows available). The bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and with a good powerful shower. No tea/coffee making facilities are provided in the room, but complimentary water is available.
