Last me start with what is not good:
Those gardens are divided in the middle, and at once you can only visit one part of it. Maybe it is able to book both tours on the same day, but it's still two bookings.
Even though it's all down-hill, the walk is really long, and there are many steps. There is almost no shade. Please consider that when planning your trip.
If I am not mistaken you are not allowed to simply wander around the garden, you have to be guided by someone, and those guides are under a time schedule so you might not have as much time as you'd like to just wander or take photos.
Now that we're done with those - I think the garden are a must! They really are breathtaking! There are actually two smaller garden on the north of Akko and near Nahariya (which I am not sure if visitors are allows into). It is also good to get to know this unique religion. So would I defiantly recommend this!
