We stayed at the Orchid for two nights. The first day, we arrived really early (before 9am I believe). The front desk said they would get a room ready for us ASAP and actually apologized for the delay and fed us fruit and juice. The room was ready shortly (maybe 30 min?) and after dragging ourselves away from the free internet in the lobby, we went up to our room, which was nicely decorated and quite spacious compared to the hotel we had stayed in Saigon. There were lots of nice little touches, like frosted stained glass bathroom windows and free tea/coffee in the room. My only complaint with the room was that the bathroom didn't vent as well as it could. The free breakfast buffet we had the next day was amazing; a variety of fresh fruits, a variety of pastries, eggs, breakfast meats, toast, spring rolls, fried noodles, fried rice...I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The front desk staff set up a day tour for us to the royal tombs and everything went very smoothly. Later that night when I was watching TV I heard a knock on the door, and there was a guy with a free plate of bananas, "for snack". Anyway, suffice to say that we had a great stay at the Orchid.
