For a tourist hotel, the Star Hotel located at 24 Thi Sach, Ben Nghe Ward, Dist.1, HCM City, Viet Nam ([--]) is well-appointed and well-located. The only Star Hotel I can locate in Tripadvisor is the Star Saigon Hotel in District 3. So I just want to be sure that we are talking about the correct hotel hotel. I went on a tour package & this hotel arranged for by our tour agent.

ROOMS: Unlike most hotels, the actual room is different from what it looks on the website. In this instance, why you see from the website is what you get. The rooms are clean and tiled floors are very clean. The bathroom has a bathtub (cleary Japanese design) where you can sit & take a nice bath. Nothing fanciful, but pleasant & clean.

BREAKFAST: The morning buffet breakfast is heartening, and tasty. There is a combination of Vietnamese & Western offering. We loved the baugettes !!

INTERNET: There are three terminals on the 2nd floor bar where you can have free internet access. Rooms are not wired up for internet access, but hotel indicated wifi is available.

RECEPTION: There's this receptionist named "Queen". She is gorgeous, speaks excellent English and is very helpful.

LOCATION: Walking distance to Sheraton, Park Hyatt, spas, Notre-Dame, Diamond Plaza & Parkson.
Next lane to the hotel, is a food lane where you can many restaurants. Walking distance to the river, too ! Very convenient location.

I'd recommend this hotel ! Unfortunately, the step going up to the hotel is steep, so this is not so friendly for the less mobile & it is not particularly handicapped friendly.
