I recently had a 5 day stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff could not be more helpfull with any request we had, and were always there with a smile. The buffet breakfast would have to be the best I have encounted for variety of styles to suit the various tastes. The room was all you could ask for with a magnificent view over the SaiGon river. The rooftop pool - (a little over chlorinated)also offered the best view over the city and districts. I would stay here again with pleasure.

From the bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City, you immediately step into the Renaissance Riverside to a personalised welcome and sense of calm. The hotel is in a great location a short walk from the main shopping and eating area with a view over the Saigon River. The hotel itself is clean, modern, tastefully decorated and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The main restaurant provides an excellent breakfast spread each morning, including freshly cooked eggs or asian food on demand. The bar in the main foyer is small and more of a holding area for new arrivals and leavers, but an excellent bar is located on the 4th floor atrium with views up to the 21st floor! The pool is on the roof - a little daunting for some maybe, but worth it for the view.

Have stayed twice at this hotel over the past week, for a total of four nights. Overall we found it to be clean, well-appointed, comfortable, and with terrific service. We'd seen some negative comments regarding availabilty of non-smoking rooms, and the rather funky lighting and heating consoles in the rooms. Would have to agree about the gaudy "master console" on the right side of the bed, which contained controls for all the lights, heating, and central audio that can be piped into the room or bathroom. As the control-freak in my family, this ensured my claiming the right side each night, and it struck us as rather ludicrous that one person controls the other's bedside reading lamp. As to the availability of non-smoking rooms, we had no difficulty with this. This may be due in part to having sprung for a club-level room, which was definitely worth the increased rate. When traveling in the US, we always avoid this amenity, but at the Riverside this made all the difference in service and comfort.

Based on previous reviews I read about this hotel on this website, I booked three nights at this hotel on the backend of my honeymoon to Vietnam.

I must say that I was not disappointed by any means. the execute club level was key to the level of attentiveness and service we received. Rooms were fantastic and ultra clean, which is always a question when traveling in Asia. Shower facilites in our room was also excellent. Wonderful kingsize bed. We were situated on the top floor (21) with a river view, but I found the river view to be a bit lacking as the river itself looks filthy, but that's not the hotel's fault.

The club lounge was a huge bonus. Club membership provides free food drinks snacks and desserts, separate check-in/check-out desk, separate concierge service, and 24/7 internet access, although the connection speed was quite slow. On several occassions I asked the concierge service for advise on local restaurants, activities, spas, etc. and found them to be extremely friendly and helpful. I would most definitely stay at this hotel in the future should I be back in Saigon.
