had 11 nights at the karon beach resort ,could not fault it in any way
we were in a ground floor room near the beach bar ,we were a bit concerned about possible noise but the bar music stops at 10pm so it wasn't a problem ,although you have to like the carpenters and bee gees !!
the hotel food was very good and the staff were lovely and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful .the hotel decor is lovely with a typical thai touch .we can recommend the hotel thai massages ,a much cleaner pavillion than the beach massage area .there were a lot of eastern europeans there who were friendly enough but be prepared, the germans lived up to their reputation for bagging the sunbeds ,they were actually getting up during the night to lay out their towels ,the hotel does not enforce the rule of no towels on the beds before 7am even although they have notices up to that effect .
lots of nice places to eat nearby we particularly liked the kata hill restaurant .phuket is lovely ,very hot ,and the mossies can be vicious but well worth going there .

On arriving at karon beach we knew we had made the right choice, after a 3 night stay in bangkok this is the ideal place for a relaxing and comfortable Holiday. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful especially the pool bar staff, very clean rooms with great views of the beach and the sunset at night. The beach is very good with jet ski's and other watersprts available We ate at the On the rock restaraunt which is across from the karon beach(2 min walk) but worth it especially for the seafood and the view over the sea and beach it is expensive for thai prices but cheap compared to UK but worth it. Just outside Karon Beach is plenty of shops(jewellry, bags, watches etc) and other places to eat, also there is a bank and cash point machines within 200 yards of karon beach. If you fancy alot livlier night out pattong is a 10 min taxi ride away which cost 100bht. 4 adults went on this trip and all enjoyed it and would definitely go back

We stayed at Karon Beach Resort in july this year for a week it was a great place to stay with the beach right there in front of you a;though its not good for swimming but thats what the pool is for!! The restaurant on the beach was really nice but you can find better food and alot cheaper at restaurants on the streets near by. The shopping in the main street is great if you are looking for copy stuff such as cds dvds t-shirts lv bags etc etc great place to visit as not in the center of patong which is very busy and crowded and the prices here are a little cheaper!! The hotel was really nice and they provide beach towels everyday for you as well as bottled water.Just one hint if you want a spot by the pool you will have to get up really early and leave your towel on a bed cause by 9 am there wont be any spots left!! Very dumb rule!!

karon beach resort is such a fabulous hotel, with fabulous staff in such an ideal and great location! You feel so safe and welcome by all and the food is excellent value and excellent quality. The rooms all have an amazing view as they all overlook the waters but donot swim at this time as the sea is extemley choppy and dangerous, the red flag is up all the time so do whatever the flag says. The town outside the hotel is great and full of great tuk tuks at all times! They are all Liverpool and england fanatics!
There is a guy called "Com" in the lobby of the hotel that is something to do with Fifa and has met LFC and he would be extremely grateful if you could take him anything to do with Liverpool football club, even old footy tops! he is a wonderful guy!
The rooms are cleaned constantly and they are faultless! The trips are cheaper to buy either in the hotel lobby or in the town outside the hotel at the kiosks, don't go through your tour agent as they are very expensive compared to the others! We done it all the time! Donot worry about safety at all as you are safe everywhere even to tour on your own through the tuk tuks, have fun we did!
No one at all had a bad word to say about the hotel and location (other holiday makers there ) and they come from all round the world, it's great! Best shopping place is Patong about 25 minutes away and is only 250 barht by tuk tuk, Is red light aswell at night though!
