We stayed at the Bo Phut resort for 7 nights in December in a Beach Front Villa. The villa was amazing with a small garden that led onto the beach. There was also a jacuzzi outside the villa that also looked onto the sea.
The staff in the hotel were exceptional, Ive never been treated so well.
The main Thai restaurant in the hotel was virtually empty every night we were there, probably because it was far more expensive than alternative restaurants in the fishermans village. However, we were very impressed with the food on the one night we ate there.
Don't bother with the spa in the hotel, the treatments cost far too much and if you walk down the beach there are loads of places doing 1 hour thai massages for as little as £3. I tried a few different massage places and found the best masseurs next to the Gecko bar. To get there, go down to the beach, turn right and walk 200m. The massage beds were set back from the beach next to the bar. The 2 ladies there were better than any others on the beach. We ended going back nearly every day, you can't stop yourself when it's so cheap!
We went to the thai boxing one night at the stadium in Cha Weng. Paid about £15 for a top seat, it was a couch right next to the ring. Really good fun and very entertaining.
We ate at Villa Bianca in the village a couple of times and the food was always excellent. Also ate at the Frog and Gecko pub which shows live premiership matches. Ate thai red curry and watched Bolton beat West Ham 4-0 whilst I was there, come on you Trotters!
Hired a car and driver from the hotel one day and toured the island. Really cheap and the driver was really helpful showing us around, definitely better than going round on a coach!
I loved this place and would definitely go back again.
